If you’re pushing limits like Christina, please make sure you’re aware of the genuine danger that cold water presents, and prepare for the worst. The shock from hitting cold water can cause you to gasp and inhale water. That’s scary enough, but if you’re in cold water without the proper gear, it doesn’t take long for hypothermia to set in. Now consider when you - if you get to shore, you’ll be soaking wet in ...cold air. If you’re not wearing a dry suit or something like it, you’re still at risk of hypothermia. CamperChristina.com is aware of the risk presented here, but she's comfortable enough with her skills, is prepared with the proper gear, and, as always, she’s wearing her PFD. The days are getting shorter, and the nights are getting a lot cooler. When you get into camp, and you just want something warm and hearty, that's also easy and fast - freeze-dried and dehydrated meals are the way to go. We carry a variety of Happy Yak Express meals. We've got some breakfast choices along with dinner/lunch options. We've got vegan options and meals with meat. If you're feeling creative, we also have their freeze-dried chicken and beef so you can round out that meal without having the extra weight.
