Meet Chris Pickering, P.Eng. Chris is the Senior Controls Engineer on Frontier’s team and has worked with Frontier for 13 years. Chris has been a key contributor to the development of the e+micro microgrid controller and is the team expert at integrating peripheral devices into the microgrid control system. Approximately 40% of global CO2 emissions come from burning fossil fuels (including diesel) to generate electricity, which is directly contributing to climate change. Kipnuk, located on the west coast of Alaska, is a Yupik community of about 600 people. Kipnuk’s residents get their electricity from a combination of diesel generators and Frontier’s Mark 1 wind turbines.
