Frozen Shoulder can often feel like a long, arduous journey. Keep your eye on your long term goals but celebrate the little victories!! Did you get deodorant on? Did you reach the bottom or second cupboard? Sleep thorough the night? Put your hair up? And if you haven’t know you will get there and beyond, And celebrate when you do #frozenshouldersucks #shoulderpain #goalsetting #frozenshoulder #adhesivecapsulitis

Frozen shoulder is initiated by a very large inflammatory reaction. No one knows exactly what causes that reaction, but the rest of the process is fairly well documented. There are inflammatory products and cells as well as a large amount of angiogenesis (blood vessel creation) in the initial stages. There is then subsequent pain, contracture (freezing) followed by eventual remodelling /stretching (thawing). If you can stop the inflammatory process early enough, you can decree the duration and extent of this debilitating condition. #frozenshoulder #adhesivecapsulitis #frozenshoulderrecovery #shoulderpain #physiotherapy #hamont

I am so proud of our little #hamont clinic. In lieu of a Holiday Party this year, we have instead made a donation to Men's Street Ministry; feeding and clothing the homeless in Hamilton. #givewhereyoulive Athlete's Care Sports Medicine Centres Cindy Philip

When you have frozen shoulder, the goal is often to regain your range of motion, but don’t forget strength! As well as overcoming the atrophy associated with frozen shoulder, strengthening the shoulder has been shown to decrease frozen shoulder pain. ... In my own practice, I have seen patients overcome plateaus not by pushing ROM harder, but by increasing strengthening! Talk to a regulated health care professional to see if you have frozen shoulder and what exercises might be right for you #frozenshoulder #shoulderpain #frozenshouldersucks #frozenshoulderphysio #shoulderrehab #shoulderexercises #yogatherapy #frozenshouldergoals

Did you know, that studies have shown bone loss in the humerus during frozen shoulder? . One of the many reasons I love cat cow so much! A small amount of weight bearing should help to reduce that loss. Plus, for me it just felt really great! #catcow #yogatherapy #frozenshoulder #frozenshoulderexercise #frozenshoulderexercise #frozenshouldersucks #adhesivecapsulitis #didyouknow #fiftyandfabulous

Chest opener: lying on your back with pillows or towel and pillow arranged as shown. Towel and pillow is more advanced but when I did it for the first time I just used pillows and it felt amazing. Arms laying at your sides in the different positions depending on where you are at. Lie like this focusing on your breath for 30 + seconds. I did this today along with some yoga twists (in this position - cactus position) and this is the change I got. It will creep back so needs to be done frequently! PLEASE NOTE: best for stages 3 and 4 - go to my website in bio if you want to learn more about the stages. But in short if it doesn’t feel good to do this don’t!!! #shoulderpain #frozenshoulder #frozenshoulderexercise #chestopener #adhesivecapsulitis #yogatherapy @athletescare @ Hamilton, Ontario

When I respond that I am 95% better, this is what I mean. I am still missing my last few degrees of external rotation at 90 degrees of abduction (arm at side) But this is often the last thing to return to normal. Also missing some last bits of strength, but am finding it hard to motivate myself to push it enough!! #motivation #rehab #frozenshoulder #shoulderpain #brokenhumerus #brokenarmproblems #brokenarm #physiohealthyself
