Had a fantastic lifestyle shoot with an amazing client last weekend. She is right on the verge of launching her new website and product line and needed some lifestyle photos to help bring her vision to life. We clicked right from the get-go and the shoot flowed easily and was tons of fun. Cathy and Cliff met online on a dating site called Our Time, just over a year ago. They both joke now that it was clearly their time to meet and, somehow, with a little help from God, out of a whopping 7.5 billion people, 5 oceans, 7 seas, 7 continents and 195 countries, they found each other. That’s no small feat. But they were both looking for the same thing - someone to share this next exciting chapter of their lives with, a life partner that gets them, that makes them ...feel special and loved, and finally, someone to marry and spend the rest of their lives with. They found that in each other. God gave them that gift - the gift of each other - and on 11 July 2020, Cathy and Cliff were married in a beautiful ceremony, surrounded by family and friends, pledging to honour, protect and nurture each other till the end of time. I've always found there is something really exhilarating about shooting pregnant women, and I'm not exactly sure why that is. You would think it wouldn't be that much different from shooting headshots or even boudoir, right? But it is amazingly different. There is a certain mysterious and enigmatic charm to shooting a woman with a huge belly that is really and truly magical. When you do a lot of maternity work, you quickly realize that the shoot isn't at all about the pregnan...t mother-to-be, but about that little unseen package hidden away from view. And because of that little person in hiding, who is unquestionably the star of the show, the shoot quickly transforms in inexplicable and creative ways.
