, ! Bandi Chhor Divas is the day on which Guru Hargobind Sahib ji, the 6th Sikh Guru, was released with 52 Kings from Gwalior Prison. The word bandi means imprisoned, chhor means release and divas means day and Bandi Chhor Divas means Prisoner Release Day. It is celebrate with great joy as it was a time when right prevailed over wrong. The Mughal had held many hundreds of prisoners who were effectively political prisoners and wer...e otherwise innocent. The Guru had found a way to get 52 of these innocent leaders released from prison without a battle. At Gurudwara Guru Nanak sikh temple Fort St. John on Sunday, October 27, there will be a special kirtan Darbar in Celebration of Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali starting off with Reharas sahib, kirtan and katha from 6pm to 8.30pm. Langar will be served in the End. So we cordially invite everyone to please come and join us for celebrations and kirtan Darbar at the Gurudwara Sahib. , !
