FSWC Quebec 20.11.2020

On October 11th, FSWC Quebec held its long-awaited Bromontultra "virtual challenge" day. The activity took place at the Lac des Nations in Sherbrooke and, in addition to the human connections and physical activity that the challenge brought, it allowed us to become even more recognized as a charity. La Tribune published an article on this subject. We rely a lot on visibility right now, and we thank you for all your help through this project. Thank you for believing in us and the potential for functional recovery in people with spinal cord injuries! It’s on Sunday that FSWC Québec and its supporters took part in the renowned event Bromontultra in its "virtual challenge" version. What a great day it was to tour the Lac des Nations as a team! A few were able to participate from a distance, each in their own region. We would like to thank all the participants who joined the event, whether it was in one of our three teams (FSWC Québec Team A, FSWC Québec Team B and First Steps Wellness Centre & First Steps Wellness Centre Wi...nnipeg) or in solo registration! Your support is invaluable to the Centre which is really looking forward to opening to help people with spinal cord injuries! We thank each and every one of you again for your presence, whether in person or at a distance :) Bromontultra, see you next year! It is not too late to support us with a donation, if you can. This week marks the end of the Défi Everest, which took place throughout the month of September. The FSWC Québec team is quite proud to announce that a total of 28,811m of elevation gain was achieved by 24 participants, that is to say 3.25 times the equivalent of Mount Everest! A number of personal challenges were met while doing so for the same cause. In the first photo, we can see Jonathan Vermette and his girlfriend Karine Côté at the top of Mount Royal, a challenge they ...took up twice in the month! Then, we have the pictures of 4 friends, Véro Major, Karine Vermette, Jonathan Ouellet and Dany Audet who, each at their own pace and in their own way, pushed their limits by challenging and motivating each other! The team captain, Jacques Vermette, in addition to encouraging the participants, reached a personal challenge of 1,515 m, or 31 climbs up Don Bosco Street. Congratulations to everyone! If you wish to encourage us, donations are accepted until midnight on the Défi Everest site, mentioning the team's name. It will still be possible to contribute via the FSWC website after this date. http://www.defieverest.com/faire-un-don https://www.fswcquebec.ca/-make-a-donation.html On this, 2020 Everest Month: We thank the organizers and look forward to seeing you next year! #DéfiEverest #climbinghisherEverest #climbingforacause #FSWCQuébecopening
