While COVID 19 restrictions has caused us to cancel the 2021 Water garden Tour, please watch this video of beautiful gardens we have toured in previous years. We are still raising funds to help our partners in Tanzania, if you are interested please go to our website, www.fortheloveofafrica.ca and make a donation. You can also see our past projects and read stories of some of the people we have helped.

Join us in making a difference in the lives of families and communities in Tanzania. Our current project is Upendo Msalato Primary School, on the outskirts of the capital city, Dodoma. We're working with our partners to build a school complex including classrooms, washrooms and a teachers office. We all believe that children embody the hope of the community and are the future of the world. We know our partners at Upendo Msalato Primary will ensure the children receive a quality primary education; leading to a solid foundation of a successful and productive life. Everywhere in the world, educating children gives parents hope for the next generation! Thank you for helping us to change the lives of whole communities through the education of children.

For The Love of Africa currently received a wonderful donation of ladies high end clothing. We are in the process of cataloguing and posting on Usedvictoria, https://www.usedvictoria.com/p/FTLOA. We also have some beautiful beaded jewelry sets that one of our members has made. She collected most of the beads and findings on her world travels. All are handcrafted, featuring sterling silver claps and ear wires. Please take a moment to have a look.

Global Handwashing Day, October 15, 2020 In May 2017 Team Tanzania was in Makuyuni, Tanzania working on the Nashipay Maasai School. We taught the children how to properly wash their hands. The ABC song was sung to show them how long to rub their soapy hands.

Imariki Pre and Primary School update: This project is located in the Iyumbu ward, within the Dodoma Urban district, located near the University of Dodoma. The community is extremely poor and opportunities are very limited for the children and youth. The majority of the population, approximately 8,000 people, cannot read or write. The school site is 3.3 acres in size, with access to Municipal water, septic system and electricity. The Project is to be phased over the next sev...eral years and the Society has committed itself to support Phase 1, the construction of three classrooms, an administration building as well as washroom facilities for students and staff. In February 2020, the For the Love of Africa Society membership approved to financially support the Imarika Investment Group for the construction of Phase 1 of the Imarika Pre and Primary School. The dream of the Imarika Investment Group is to provide quality Pre and Primary education. Due to COVID-19 there was a small delay in beginning the work. The work has now begun and the first step is to clear the site and ready it for construction to begin. Team Tanzania 2020 had to postpone their travel plans due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Once these travel restrictions are lifted and the safety of the Team can be guaranteed, travel plans will resume. Anyone interested in joining the team in the future should contact the Society for more information. See more
