Beau and Rosy are working hard in training with April Saulnier's Dog Training. These dogs are both wonderful but need a lifetime commitment to training. THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION CURRENTLY.

Chewie is feeling very stylish and all geared up for his walk. Even though the weather may not be the best, it is still very important to keep our dogs exercised!

Bailey (right) has been with us for a few months. She’s working hard on becoming a more confident and happy dog. We are seeing some amazing results with her but we still have work to do. Pablo (bottom) is new to our rescue. He’s showing lot of potential and doing well in foster care. Pablo is going for a neuter soon and updated medical care. As with all our rescues thes...e dogs are undergoing training so when they leave they are not only evaluated but come with good skills to ensure a healthy relationship with their new owners. Have you ever wanted your very own Chewbacca? Well you are in luck! Meet Chewie ! Chewie is an approximately one and half year old terrier mix looking for his forever home. He is a very active young dog who requires a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. ... He looks small in pictures, however Chewie is a medium size 40 pound dog. As a terrier mix, he can be very stubborn and thinks things should always go his way. With a strong pack leader and continous training, he has shown us what a fun and smart little dog he truly is. Chewie is not 100% comfortable with all handling. He will need someone patient and dedicated to continue working with him on this so trips to the vet or groomer are a more comfortable experience for him. He can also take a little time to warm up to new people so this is an area that will need to be worked on continuously with his new family. He is great in the car as well as on walks. He has also completed 6 weeks of obedience training and loves to work! Chewie got his name as he can be very destructive when left on his own. Without supervision or something to do, he will chew on anything and everything from shoes to paper and furniture. He is crate trained which makes this a bit easier to deal with when he is alone.. Hi Friends! My name is Bailey. I just made it to rescue recently and life is changing for me. I’m dealing with severe anxiety. I haven’t explored the world so lots of things make me nervous. Apparently I’m not very educated just yet so I’m NOT UP FOR ADOPTION. ... I’m also dealing with a very sensitive belly. I get the frequently. My team has put me on a Gastro diet from my good friends at VetCare Pet Hospital Trites Road Ltd.. I’m not making any allowance right now so I need some help paying for my food. Can you help? Bailey is working hard! She’s not quite ready for adoption but she’s on her way there. We have been working on teaching her confidence on surface changes, hanging out in new places along with regular life skills to ensure she’s going to be the best companion for her new partner.... This gal requires LOTS of exercise. Because of that she’s going to require someone special who’s extremely active and enjoys all the Canadian seasons as she does. See more

2020 QUILT AUCTION!! During the Covid-19 crisis many families have had to give up their ‘best friend’ and have turned to rescue. In these unusual times it seemed appropriate for ANML-RESQ to do something unusual in the way of fundraising, so here’s the deal. Over the last few months our quilter has been very busy and we have 9 fabulous quilts to put up for auction. This is going to be a unique fundraiser as the bidder will support their favourite rescue!! ... It’s easy just select the quilt, put in your bid, and name the rescue you wish to support. This little guy is totally sweet

Hopper is now ready for adoption. He was previously with us before we implemented mandatory training into our rescue adoption rules. During his stay with us over the last few months he’s been working on being a better version of himself. We have been ensuring he’s living a more controlled lifestyle and following rules set by his trainer April Saulnier's Dog Training. When Hopper he was dealing with possession issues like growling on the couch. We have diminished a lot of the...se issues. Regardless of his improvements we are looking for a home who will not spoil him rotten. Due to his poodle personality he needs to kept mentally stimulated due to his inability to receive large amounts of exercise. While Hopper was with us last time he did receive two patella surgeries. His leg was amputated in the front due to a severe break as a puppy. We prefer a home with no children but will consider homes with dog educated older children. Hopper does not enjoy the company of large dogs. Thank you to 4 Paws Pet Resort for assuring in caring and grooming Hopper upon his return.
