Today and tomorrow, we are participating in the Youth Climate Summit presented by the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO designated biosphere reserve. We are learning about climate change impacts, innovative solutions, and resiliency strategies! This year, the Canadian Mental Health Association focuses on the theme of being able to express emotions comfortably in the scope of Mental Health Week. At Fulford Academy, we always encourage our students to understand and openly communicate their feelings. After advocating for Bell Let's Talk Day earlier this year and expressing our feelings about the importance of mental health, we keep leading the discussion on this Mental Health Week and support @cmhanational in their goal. We have student leadership programs that enable our students to learn the characteristics of a leader and prepare them to be one in their future careers. One of these programs, Fulford Academy Prefects, is for our hard-working students who demonstrate leadership skills and are role models for their peers. Meet Kenny, our Grade 11 Prefect! As an international student from Jiangsu Province in Mainland China, he shares that he had the opportunity to help his peers adapt to Ca...nada and FA as a Prefect. He also enjoys having the chance to get to know different cultures by helping his classmates. While realizing the importance of leaders during his two years of being a Prefect, he learned as a lifelong lesson that a good leader also operates as a humble person to help others. And we are confident that he will represent these values in his dream Finance/Business career.
