Ultrasound has been used for many things in healthcare, but does it actually work? Despite over 60 years of clinical use, the effectiveness of ultrasound for treating people with pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and soft tissue lesions remains questionable. A search of relevant research published between 1975 and 2009 was carried out to establish the effectiveness of this treatment.... There was little evidence that active therapeutic ultrasound is more effective than placebo ultrasound for treating people with pain or a range of musculoskeletal injuries or for promoting soft tissue healing. The few studies deemed to have adequate methods examined a wide range of patient problems. The dosages used in these studies varied considerably, often for no discernable reason. Another systematic review of relevant studies published between 1975 and 1999 found a similar conclusion. There are many other treatments that have been proven to be effective such as working on the injured tissues via manual therapy, acupuncture, rehab, etc that should be used first. ---------------------------------------------------- In summary: ultrasound is likely not the best way of going about treating musculoskeletal injuries. Turning to ultrasound is like using a fork to eat soup in a spoon-making factory. #chiropractor #chiropracticadjustment #chiropractic #rehab #sportstherapy #cambridgechiropractic #galtlove #Hespeler #Preston #fullbodyfunction #notyouraveragechiropracticclinic #athletictherapy #massagetherapist #massagelove #sportsmassage #acupuncture #sportsacupuncture @ Cambridge, Ontario

Whether its a physio, or a chiro, or anything really. If your treatment plan isn't showing results, take a step back, look at it from a different point of view, and stay critical of yourself. We hate hearing stories of "I was going to this chiropractor for so long and it only kind of helped". SWITCH IT UP IF IT AIN'T WORKING. #fullbodyfunction #fixyoself

World Spine Day! Really, everyday should have you thinking about how you can improve your mobility. I have worked with people and seen patients that move less than historic buildings, only to complain about some sort of shoulder back, knee, you-name-it kind of pain.... Move more. Don't be a historic building. #fullbodyfunction #cambridge #chiropractic #nooffencetohistoricbuildings #fixyoself @ Cambridge, Ontario

Believe it or not, our bodies are no different than a tall tower. The spine itself is the main structure, and the muscles of the core along with fascia surround the muscle are the guy wires holding the building upright. Lets look at the first image. Tower A has guy wires pulling at equal tensions on either side of it. Tower B has two different tensions. Both towers remain upright but one is pain-free while the other ain't so lucky. Equalising the tension between the g...uy wires of your spine may be all that's needed to help with that nagging mid or low back pain! Try one of the three exercises in the third image and hold them as long as you can on both right and left sides twice a day. You will probably notice one side is stronger. This will make you think... Is this crazy guy on Instagram on to something? Be aware back pain can be more confusing than ordering food in a French restaurant, but sometimes it's as simple as a few side bridges a day. #fixyo'self #causeknowledgeispower #fullbodyfunction
