Full Spectrum Maternal Support 04.06.2021

Hello and welcome to Full Spectrum Maternal Support! I am so excited to be starting this journey into maternal and family support! My goal is to create a brave and empowering space that everyone can feel like themselves. I'm hoping to be able to empower the London and surrounding areas pregnant and birthing people to advocate for themselves by using informed consent and while were at it try to end the stigmas around pregnancy and bigger bodies as well as support the LGBTIQA+ ...and families of colour. Everyone deserves the same medical treatment no mater their skin colour or beliefs.

It's endometriosis awareness month. This is what endo is to me. Day 1 of my cycle is hard. Hard to get out of bed. Hard to eat.... Hard to stay awake. The first image is right when I got out of bed. Not super bloated but I was in so much pain, I wanted to crawl back into bed so bad. I knew things were only going to get worse from there. Second picture is 4 hours later, I hadn't got off the couch, I was naucious, dizzy and just wanted a nap, the pain had subsided but the bleeding was getting heavy. Third picture was after finally eating something small, but then the clots started I know I'm not alone, I am 1 in 10. This does not define me. I am more than my disease. #endowarrior #endomitriosis #endosister #endoawareness #endoawarenessmonth #1in10 #advocate #educate #empower #fertilitysupport #fertility #ttc #infertility #secondaryinfertility #infertilityawareness #endosucks #chronicillness #chronicpain #myendostory #myendojourney #lndont #london #canadian #doula #support See more

Happy Endometriosis Awareness Month Here's my endo story. Dealing with endometriosis hasn't been easy. Before I was diagnosed in January of 2020 my cycles were all over the place, lasting anywhere from 14 days to 46 days with pain getting increasingly worse each time. When I had finally asked for answers I was pushed away by everyone. I heard it all "It was in my head" "I was overreacting" "its just a period". I had enough and broke down. I knew something was wrong. They did... bloodwork, nothing. I did research, they didn't trust what I was saying. I pushed harder, they put me on birth control. When that made things worse they told me to get pregnant. When I finally got a referral to a fertility specialist it was the same struggle. I didn't feel heard. I begged for more tests but they just said to try more meds. It wasn't until I finally threatened to leave their practice and asked for referrals to other specialists they took me seriously and scheduled my diagnostic surgery. When I woke up the Dr didn't even come to tell me what they found. I wish I could have seen them and told them "I told you so". But I finally had an answer, and official diagnosis. I am 1 in 10 anw while it hasn't gotten any harder, it's not that much better, I still struggle with pain and bloating regularly, but things have seemed to level out. And I hope to share my next step in TTC in the upcoming months. #endowarrior #endomitriosis #endosister #endoawareness #endoawarenessmonth #1in10 #advocate #educate #empower #fertilitysupport #fertility #ttc #infertility #secondaryinfertility #infertilityawareness #endosucks #chronicillness #chronicpain #myendostory #myendojourney #lndont #london #canadian #doula #support #endomarch See more
