EFT is an evidence-based technique that really works! In this free class, I'll lead you through a tapping session to target your physical feelings of stress, worries about your kids, work, vaccines, and other changes you've had to make to adapt to the pandemic. This came across my news feed a while back and I thought it was great. But apparently I didn't integrate it into my own life. Then, I had someone share it with me when I was talking about being overwhelmed by all of my plans and personal expectations for the year ahead. It finally sunk in more and my whole body could relax. If the steps we're taking toward our goals/resolutions make us feel tense, significantly uncomfortable, pressured or not good enough, it's a sign that we...'re reaching for perfection, rather than actually moving forward. We're not listening to ourselves. We're not even listening to logic! Because of that, we're hurting ourselves by expecting more than is possible or logical. Taking a smaller step, while it may seem insignificant or useless, is actually the only way to get on the ladder. Each small step that keeps our nervous system balanced, and our higher Self in the picture, is a step that we can be sure will lead us in the direction of abundance. Without sacrificing self-love. I hope this gives you the permission that perhaps you've been holding out for to slow down, and choose the steps that feel good to you.

*Help for nurses, caregivers and others on the front lines* I've been hearing a lot recently about the personal toll that COVID stress is taking on front line workers like nurses and teachers. This is on top of an already-demanding career. Front line workers often have to put their own feelings aside to help others. COVID hasn't made this any easier! A fun talk with Dawson Church, Clinical EFT Researcher and science writer. Some of my favourite points he covers are: - practicing positive states of mind creates real, physical changes in your brain - it's a cumulative process - the more you do it, the more your brain changes, and the more resilient you are in the face of trauma and loss... - one of the best places to focus your efforts is learning the skills of emotional regulation, that is, the ability to come out of a funk (this doesn't meant stuffing your feelings) - not all meditation is created equal - some of it can take 20 years to significantly change your brain, others are only a matter of weeks. Body-based meditations and techniques are generally more effective than trying to settle your mind. And hey, EFT + coaching are in line with all of this! Both create change by working with the brain's capacity to learn new things, undoing old emotional and behavioural habits. EFT is an amazing emotional regulation tool and tool for deep emotional processing to reduce the burden of past events on your brain's functioning today. Woot! One of the most-googled questions about EFT Tapping is "does it really work?" I'm guessing the real question is, "how the heck is tapping on my face supposed to change my thoughts and beliefs.. and physical pain.. and sports performance?! Yeah, no." Gather round! Oooh, I like this! Many of us are feeling especially isolated these days. And although deep, close and committed friendships/relationships do the most to keep us feeling happy and connected, there is a LOT to be said for the brief and sincere moments of connection that we can have with strangers throughout the day. Not to mention how much it goes toward brightening someone else's day! Is anyone else a social snacker?
