Last week, across the province, groups and individuals were invited to celebrate the impact that school age care programs have in the lives of Albertan children, families, and communities. Friday, April 23rd marked the 5th year of Lights On Afterschool, with it's intention to "shine a light" on Out of School Care programs across the province, educate policy makers on the impact these programs have in an effort to improve recognition, availability, and funding for our sector. Our children and educators in Room 127 (Fulton Afterschool at Hardisty) worked hard to put together a video, and are very excited to share it with you! Enjoy!

We are excited to partner up with a local vendor for our April fundraiser this year! Jonathan and Thea Avis have been in the Food Industry for over 30 years, both in Retail Bakery shops and Wholesale Manufacturing. In 2014, they decided to develop a new concept in the casual dining experience by perfecting meat pie recipes from parts of Canada, Britain, and the former colonies. Meat Street Pies was born. It started with a mobile Food Truck and has now morphed into their first... restaurant location in Sherwood Park. Since its inception, Meat Street Pies' mission is to resurrect long-standing traditional recipes and produce a variety of savoury pies chosen from select countries to bring an international eating experience for your enjoyment and nostalgic memories. Please keep an eye on your child's locker at the beginning of April for the menu and order form from Meat Street Pies! Orders will be due April 14, 2021, and delivery of products is scheduled for Thursday April 29, 2021 between the hours of 4 - 6 pm. Thank you again, for your continued support in our fundraising efforts. See more

Amy provides Frankie with materials to make a moth but leaves the project open-ended to see where the project goes. Next, Amy explores ideas of diversity and inequality using the FLIGHT curriculum as a guide to assist parents and educators in guiding tough conversations with young children to act for positive change. The FLIGHT curriculum on page 111 explains these ideas more in-depth.... https://flightframework.ca//Flight%20Framework%20Document% Lastly, we read "The Family Book" by Todd Parr to celebrate how each family is different, and yet the same.
