It’s been a tough few months for all of us...We wanted to launch a 28-day program to hit the re-set button. Whether you lost your motivation during Covid or having a difficult time forming new healthy habits, we want to help you get started! We have designed this 28-day plan with our community in mind. We will communicate with you DAILY with simple habits to encourage you to stay on track! Happy Sunday everyone! Today, we’ll talk briefly about habits. Good or bad, we all have some habits that we are proud of and some we want/need to change...here are some of our winning habits: Waking up early helps us do our workouts and start our day with a great dose of adrenaline and decreases the stress for the rest of the day not to mention not to have to worry about training after work when we are tired. We exercise most days if not everyday. Whether it’s biking..., running, lifting or even active recovery days when we walk to a field to kick the ball around or go for a longer walk or a hike, we try to be physically active in some capacity everyday. We talked about goal setting earlier in the week: it helps us keep motivated and keeps us on track, writing down the tasks is a great reminder to ensure you get 1-3 tasks done everyday (not to mention stress reduction...starting to see a pattern here?) Eating a healthy but balanced diet is an integral part of our good habits. It starts with grocery shopping and buying good quality fruits, veggies and protein. Meal planning and prepping will greatly increase the chance of eating healthy when we get busy and reduces stressing about prepping food at night after a busy day at work. We talked a little bit today about the importance of protein in your diet and how as a vegetarian, it is hard sometimes for me to hit my daily target unless I plan my meals accordingly (which is something I am getting much better at with the help of my wife!) There is a lot of controversy around how much protein you need daily but we believe that 1g per pound of lean muscle mass should the minimum daily intake. Some of our favourite sources of protein:... Tofu Beans Veggie burgers Lentils (Vegetarian) Chicken breast High quality meats Salmon Tuna And some lesser known like: Chickpea pasta Black bean pasta Please let us know in the comments below what your go to and easy source of daily protein is.
