NEW COACH ALERT! Devin Vowles has a B.A Sports Studies (Athletic development and health concentrations) along with his NASM CPT Certification. He comes from a multi-sport background in Lacrosse, Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, and Olympic weightlifting... How did Devin get into coaching you ask? My first coaching experience was coaching U8 lacrosse when I was 16. At the time, there wasn’t a lot of coaches, and they needed one more coach or the team would need to fold. I decided to give back and help. As the season progressed, I started to notice improvements from the players, and it felt very rewarding for me to have these players get better and grow a love to continue playing because ofmy coaching. At this time, I was living a pretty unhealthy lifestyle, and I never took training seriously. A few years later, I had a major turning point in my life that drove me to get into powerlifting/bodybuilding. I became very successful and achieved a national level total in powerlifting. I began to feel a great sense of pride in the way I could transform my own body and achieve ahigh level of athletics. People would always ask me for advice, and they would ask me to create programs for them. I wanted other people to feel that same sense of satisfaction that I found from adopting a healthier lifestyle and achieving personal goals. This led me to get my degree in sports studies and my personal training certification, so I could pursue a career in coaching and help people achieve their own self satisfaction Devin's coaching philosophy: I believe that everyone has the capability to be excellent. You can achieve anything by building a plan, following it, and working hard. Nothing that is worth doing in life will come easy, and it takes a tremendous level of discipline to reach your goals. You will see Devin not only coaching our Tier 1 Classes but also as a main coach in our youth program! You may also from time to time see him curling in the squat rack but we won't hold that against him #BecomeMore See more

Coach June epitomizes her motto of age is but a number, fitness is a lifestyle! Having completed many 10km runs, half marathons, Trail run events as well as completing her first Ultra 50km at the age of 50, June lives what she preaches. She is certified as an ACE Personal Trainer and ACE Group Fitness Instructor, First Aid/CPR, ACE Specialist Program Fitness Nutrition, Functional Training, Orthopaedic Exercise, Level 1 Instructors for TRX, Spin Instructor.... June's Coaching Philosophy For people, no matter what age, to find a way to move their bodies, to gain strength, health, and happiness, creating new habits for a better life. How did June get into coaching? As a young teen I always enjoyed working out for my own benefits, remember doing the Aerobics and Step workouts as that was all the trend, but my career headed in a different direction, then with getting married, plus children. I was a full time mother with supporting my children with their sports but once I moved to Canada in 2009 with my family I had time to focus on me and took up running which I really enjoy, found benefits from moving my body in a different way, helping with stresses of a new life in a new country. I also learned that with any sport that it needs to be supported with other cross training. So once all my daughters headed off to university I decided it was time for something new and decided to go back to education, not only for my own benefits but also to help others understand that their bodies need to move in different ways, throughout their lives, no matter how old they are. June's Proudest Moment as a coach Too many moments big and small, which are personal to each individual client that I have coached and each time I celebrated them. One of these moments was running a half marathon with a client, that never thought that they could run that far, but to see the smile on that client’s face as they crossed the finish line was a moment to remember. Are you over 40 and needing some specific guidance for your next 40 - 50 years to stay healthy and fit? June is here to help! #BecomeMore : @boldphotosbyshelly : @jas_personalfitness See more

Coach Quinn leads with a simple and effective mindset: Focus on the things that you can control and will give you your desired outcome. Certifications He received his BSc. Kinesiology with Distinction at Simon Fraser University, and is a BCAK Registered Kinesiologist, CSEF Certified Personal Trainer... Quinn's Awards and Achievements: Completed Directed Studies on Perceptions of Head Impacts in Ice Hockey with the Injury Prevention and Mobility Lab at Simon Fraser University Assisted in the active rehabilitation of clients who are recovering from: partial paraplegia, non-specific back pain, non-specific neck pain, bilateral hip-replacement surgery, brain-injuries, ankle sprains, non-specific knee pain Quinn's Coaching Philosophy: Focus on the things that you can control and will give you your desired outcome. How did Quinn get into coaching: Over a period of 2 years, I experienced several injuries which left me feeling frustrated and incapable of doing the activities that I enjoyed, which in turn was very challenging on my mental health since I had grown up being a very active child. Thankfully, I had the guidance of health professionals who taught me about the gradual process of active rehabilitation. These exercises helped empower me to take some control over my recovery. Since then, I look for opportunities to help others to feel more empowered and confident when dealing with various injuries and conditions, or with their health in general. Quinn's proudest moment as a coach: Every time I teach someone how to deadlift a barbell for the first time. It seems to be an exercise that people are nervous and worried about performing properly. It always puts a smile on my face to see someone say Wow, I never knew I could lift that much. People are usually much more capable than they think they are. If you are struggling with a nagging injury, movement limitations or the motivation to get started, Coach Quinn has your back! #BecomeMore : @boldphotosbyshelly : @mightyquinn_94 See more

Coach Ronnie Mundell first got into coaching after training under Coach Morgan and Weightlifting Coach Andy. In his early teen years he hurt his back lifting weights which was a really rough time not only physically but mentally as well not being able to workout. Personally knowing how tough it is to go from being in good shape to being injured and completely out of shape and overweight to then coming back to fitness and regaining his self confidence and feeling strong ...and capable is what motivated Ronnie to become a coach. Ronnies Education: CrossFit L1, Computer Science Diploma Douglas College Ronnies Awards/Achievements: First place at Festivus Games-Team Division Compete as a top 10 Teen Individual at the 2017 CanWest Games Ronnie's Coaching Philosophy: I coach to help bring people to a level higher than they thought was possible. I believe in motivating each member to always strive to be better and work harder than yesterday while I ensure they keep themselves safe and healthy. Ronnies Proudest moment: Being at the gym and working mainly with the kids and teens, I find it rewarding (seeing them) improving themselves by bettering their movement. #BecomeMore : @boldphotosbyshelly : @life.of.ronnie See more

Coach Ellen Lu or as most know and recognize her as, "Smiley". There's no surprise where she gets the nickname from as she shows up smiling and ready to help all those she works with every day especially her "kidlets" as she calls them in her Youth Program. Coach Ellen really got into the fitness and health scene when she was 16 and loved the environment of being surrounded by a community of strong and awesome individuals. Something most don't know about Coach Ellen is... that she hated Olympic weightlifting when she first tried it. But thankfully stuck with it and truly fell in love with not only it as a personal means to health and wellness but something she is so passionate about sharing with the youth and adults she coaches. Coach Ellen wants nothing more than to see my youth grow into physically and mentally strong athletes and individuals. Coach Ellen's Education: BSc (in progress), NSCA-CPT (in progress), NCCP Olympic Weightlifting Club CL 1 (in progress), Agatsu Kettlebell Trainer L1, FMS L1, Onnit Academy Foundations Trainer Ellen's Coaching Philosophy: I view training and sport as a tool to become a better person in all aspects of life. What you do here in the gymhow you treat your fellow athletes, how you tackle challenges in your training, and how you show upbuilds character and translates to everyday living. Ellen's Proudest Moment: If I had to pinpoint a specific moment, it would be when I realized how much progress one of my youth athletes had made in the course of a year. This particular athlete has ASD and could not sit into a squat at the beginning of the program. We worked really hard together and over the course of a year, she made amazing progress. She went from not being able to perform a squat to being able to perform power snatches and clean and jerks with near perfect execution. Do you have children who want or would benefit from learning how to be strong inside and out? Coach Ellen is ready to guide and lead them! #BecomeMore : @boldphotosbyshelly : @_coachellen See more
