Lakeview Golden Shelties

Well Folks it's been an exciting morning here! We have had a natural breeding between Riven and Sprite! We weren't sure if it was going to happen but I am super happy that it did. This litter of puppies will be our first 100% pure British and there is a possibility of sable, tri and blue puppies. Sprite is due May 29.

Little trouble maker! Third time she has gotten out of the pen tonight!

We have had a successful breeding between Penny and Tristan and are expecting a litter of sable puppies on May 17th. Colours will range from a light golden sable to mid sable. There is also the possibility of white factored sable puppies. These puppies will be have British and range in size from about 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.

It was too chilly first thing this morning to go out so the puppies played on the floor while their pen was cleaned.

15 minutes outside and both of them were ready to come in. Gus learned to do the stairs.

Penny is in heat. We are expecting a breeding between her and Tristan in the next two weeks. All the puppies from this breeding will be varying shade of sable and there may be some white factored puppies as well.

So Charm has come into heat. Hopefully in the next two weeks we will be announcing a breeding between her and Riven. Fingers crossed that these two can figure it out. Very excited to see what they produce.

Just our three little boys left here. Huey Dewey and Louie. But they are having a good time being the only puppies. Tuesday is their vet check and their first car ride. Won't be long before we have an empty house again.

Pepper's puppies are 5 weeks old today. This is usually when I start them outside and the weather today cooperated with a beautifully warm day. I am sure there won't be a lot more days like this so I hope the boys appreciate their first time outside.

People ask me if shelties shed. They do..... a lot!...... but for the most part it does not end up on the floor, it stays in their coat until you brush them. This picture shows what happens when I brush 9 shelties during shedding season. To be fair the garbage can was half full already.

Pepper's puppies moved to their new pen today. They will be three weeks old on Thursday. Eyes are open and they spend a lot of time exploring their space. Mom will have the option of being in with them or sleeping by herself. She spends a lot of time guarding their pen from the other dogs.

It is picture day! Well technically it was picture day yesterday. The puppies are still inside today waiting for it to get a bit warmer and dryer outside. They have a huge double pen outside with a sunshade over them and they are loving it. I made sure there is at least one photo of every puppy. Look for the video later today, and don't mind my baby talk....I really should learn to be quiet when I take videos!

Pictures of Penny's puppies and Peppers puppies. There are no puppies available from these two litters. All the puppies are spoken for. Penny's puppies had just finished their breakfast so their wee faces are a bit dirty from their food.

Pepper is having her puppies. Unfortunately we lost one little girl. She has one sable boy so far and the wee one that we lost. Two more to come... UPDATE - All the puppies have arrived and we have three boys. One sable and two tri. Mom and the three boys are all doing well.

Puppy pictures! I have finally named all the puppies after different breeds of cows. They have moved to their big puppy pen and are loving it. All of these puppies are sold.

Exciting day today! Pepper went to the city and had an x-ray to see how many puppies were hiding in there. Happy to announce that she has 4 puppies. We are all set up and anxiously awaiting their arrival. Could be any day now. Look closely and count the skulls and spines and you will see 4 puppies. One is already in position for delivery.

With all this focus on puppies just a reminder that we still have an adult male dog up for adoption. He is oversized at 18 inches. He has been learning some new manners while here. We are still working on him being calm in the house and not barking while outside. He is doing really well with men now although he still prefers women. He no longer chases cats and he is doing much better with children. I would still like to place him in a home with no other pets and no children.
