Big news yesterday for small businesses in Canada from a Press Conference with Justin Trudeau: The Government will now cover up to 75% of wages for qualifying businesses. Employees will be paid even if business is closed or has slowed down dramatically. More information to hopefully come by Monday. This will be backdated to March 15th.... Through the Canada Emergency Business Account, Banks will offer $40,000 loans guaranteed by the government to qualifying businesses Interest free for the first year. If certain conditions are met, $10,000 will be forgiven. They will be deferring GST and HST payments until June, which is the equivalent to giving $30 billion to businesses.
