Big shoutout to Dru Kennedy for being featured in the 10-part Race Face Performance Products Creator Series. This particular episode profiles just how amazing the riding is in our very own, little-big province of Newfoundland! Newfoundland; a massive raw slab surrounded by the frigid North Atlantic waters. An island that defines east coast Canadian culture, where lobster traps and small-town bars sit amongst incredible scenic vistas. But as beautiful as it is, theres a side... of Newfoundland that doesnt show up on the postcards that - for a small but growing group of passionate riders - truly defines what makes this place so special. A single dirt road runs through a small town, nonexistent cell reception deep within an old logging trail, and ancient rock formations with jagged seams that dominate the landscape. Ride the rock deep across the island to discover the trails and tales that define this remote island's budding riding culture and the whatever-it-takes dedication to create a community that will last for generations. Are YOU coming? The 2019 Pippy Snowbike Festival is set for Sunday, January 20 2019 featuring fatbike demos and the biggest group ride you've ever been on! Starting 10am 3 groups with staggered starts will depart for a 10k or so bike ride through the trails around 3 Pond Barrens in Pippy Park. Each group will have a LEAD rider who knows the way, and a SWEEP rider taking up the rear to make sure nobody goes astray or gets left behind.... Group 1 FAST: Although it's NOT a race, some speed demons in this gang of experienced riders will be driving the pace. Group 2 STEADY: A casual ride in the park, this group will enjoy an easy, steady pace with breaks as necessary to keep the group together. Group 3 SLOW: This is for the beginner rider, first-timers, or anyone that wants a slow, comfortable meander through the woods with several rest stops to take in the scenery. We expect close to 100 riders so make sure you're one of them!
