Today’s feature is a lovely dresser set that is now the newest addition to a nursery. It was the gift at an incredibly lovely virtual baby shower this past weekend and mom-to-be is completely over-joyed. We couldn’t be happier with the end result!... Both pieces were refreshed in casement colour, a crisp white from @fusionmineralpaint and the handles were all refreshed with gold gilding wax. On the smaller piece, the top pull was replaced with a larger handle. The inspirational sayings inside the larger drawers were a fun added touch. Thursdays are for gorgeous tall dressers like our bold charcoal piece that we just put the finishing touches on! It’s stately made and in great condition, originating from the 1950’s and often called a ‘tall boy’ or ‘chest of drawers.’ Made of solid wood with dove-tail details, this vintage dresser was refreshed in Ash by Fusion which appears as a soft yet bold charcoal gray. The pulls on the five drawers have been redone in a silver-gray metallic and each drawer glides well.... This piece definitely commands its space in a room and is perfect for a bedroom hallway or office. We’ve been feeling the inspiration flowing with our frames collection lately. Today’s piece is a bright reminder that spring is, in fact, near, even if we can’t quite see it yet. Nothing brightens a Monday like pretty yellow flowers, surrounded by a soft yellow frame, if we do say so! The reclaimed flower pot has been upcycled with a technique we use to create a faux concrete look, then softened with white polka dot detailing. The look is complete with a refreshing Welcome sign at the top.... Tip Tuesday With all this extra time spent in our homes, you may find yourself getting bored with the same old interior, craving new things but also wanting to save a little this time of year. Our #tuesday is all about shopping in your own home and we’re loving this for so many reasons. Finding new uses for old items can bring new life and energy to the piece and your space.... Try moving pieces from room to room to make it feel new and fresh. Think of it as rescuing and restoring right from within your home! Take it one space at a time. Stand back and look at one room at a time, thinking about the function of each piece in there. There could be pieces you no longer love or use taking up valuable space. Make some time to reevaluate what’s in there. Large furniture and rugs can always be reassembled in new spots. Chairs could be put in different places. Dressers can become new decor pieces in family rooms and are great for storage! Night tables could be brought into the living room as end tables. New pictures can be added to old familiar frames. Mason jars work well as trendy vases. Things you’ve forgotten about in the basement or storage could be reimagined with a fresh coat of paint. There’s definitely no pressure and if you don’t like the new look, change it up again! It’s a great way to get the whole family involved in a creative project. We are all about vintage sewing tables right now. Who could blame us?This is our latest (which was just purchased by the loveliest customer!) well-made table. These tables were built strong enough to support the weight of a sturdy sewing machine so they are always high-quality pieces. This beauty has been refreshed in coal black with copper gilding wax on the hardware - such an elegant colour combo, if we do say so. The front drawer, which folds out, has been left the origin...al colour, with the pull treated with copper gilding wax. There is a support arm that goes out when you open the lid, making it the perfect place to keep flowers, pictures or a decorative dish! Much of the original hardware has been kept inside the table to keep some of the authenticity. You can also hide some goodies in here or keep your spare set of keys on the hook. Overall, sewing tables are always stylish, historic pieces and we’re thrilled when we come across them & the opportunity to restore them, bringing them back to their former glory. We cannot get over the look and feel of our latest piece. Do you feel the stately energy radiating off this vintage accent table?! We sure can. It pulls us back right to another time and era. Originally made by Sears, Roebuck and Co. as a sewing table and cabinet, this statement piece is painted dark coal black for quite the elegant look. It’s teardrop pulls and hinges are original and brought back to their former glory with copper gilding wax. The large drop leaf gives you... extra space to display photos, flowers or other decor pieces. It’s well-made and sturdy with a few character bumps and quirks due to the vintage age and history attached to this memorable piece.
