Great work Yager Bros.!
From our staff to everyone!
As of April 13, only three bags / cans of yard waste will be collected per collection day, per eligible residential property (single family homes and apartments... with six units or less). There is also restrictions on leaf and yard waste at the landfill / drop-off depots. Residents may experience delays with leaf and yard waste collection so that frontline collectors can prioritize the weekly collection of garbage, recycling and organics. Ripped leaf and yard waste bags must be re-bagged or placed in another container to ensure material can be collected. For more information, visit niagararegion.ca/waste/COVID-changes.aspx
REMINDER: Hello Everyone, Hope you are all staying safe and well :)... Please note we are not open to the public at this time. This includes for disposal of any kind, as well as the purchase of our sale materials (mulch, soil, stone, etc). We are currently only open to our commercial business as they are considered essential and we offer the essential disposal they need in order to continue to manage the waste stream. Please understand it is fully up to our discretion on who we allow into the facility and all residents will be turned away at this time. We support everyone and anyone who has the ability (not deemed essential) staying home to help stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Lets all do our part! We also want to thank all the essential businesses and all their risk and hard work during this crucial time. THANK YOU! Thank you everyone for your cooperation and understanding. Be well! FWR STAFF :)

What is a transfer station and how we differ from a Landfill: A transfer station is an indoor building or processing site for the temporary storage and processing of waste/garbage. Transfer stations are used as places where local waste collection vehicles as well as residents will dispose of their waste material. The waste is processed removing recyclables and hazardous materials. Then larger vehicles will transport the waste in bulk to the end point of disposal in an incinerator, landfill, or hazardous waste facility, or for recycling. A landfill site (also known as a dump, garbage dump or dumping ground) is a site for the disposal of waste materials by burial. It is the oldest form of waste treatment. Historically, landfills have been the most common method of organized waste disposal.
