Puppy Party! Puppy socialization class is jam packed with fun learning and play with puppies and their humans.
Lennon is so grown up! We're in a mutual fan club.
Practicing recall from farther away, using a long line for safety.
Handsome Hoya is making great strides with reactivity to other. He still has moments but now he and his people have mad skills, so his outbursts are of lower intensity and less frequent. That's cause for celebration!
Wow, apparently school is exhausting.
Practice makes perfect.
Obi, you little charmer. I am so surprised how well he remembers me from last fall.
Class is going ahead with full social distancing in a well-ventilated private space. We'd love to see you there (in your mask, of course)!
Hey pup lovers, can anyone chip in a bit for the cats and dogs up North? Wild West Animal League is stepping in to fill the gap because there are so many animals in need and not enough support systems. Every bit counts. (Kitty lovers welcome too!) Thank you!
Shop Local Shout Out: I'm just now discovering that a long time client offers pet photography. Whaaa?! How did I not know she does such beautiful work? If you are looking to buy local this holiday season (please do!) perhaps a pet portrait is just the way to give someone you love--and their fuzzy buddy--a gift that lasts.... www.imagesbybeth.ca
Friends who stick together, stick together.
What good dogs you are.
Classes starting soon, register today!
Lucy is a smarty pants border collie. She's a quick learner but keeps her people on their toes because she's so smart.
Posing for the camera. We got an unexpected break in the clouds today so a walk in the sunshine was a treat.
Oh my gosh, the instinct is strong in these little ones. I hope they get to live their lives doing what they are clearly meant to do. #herdingdogs
Playing training games on a long line allows us a little more freedom to move.
Elli is growing up! She hardly looks like a puppy anymore. #adolescentdog #puppynomore
Well that's pretty cool. Thanks to my peeps in South Surrey! Hats off to Ocean Park Dog Training who has been in the community for many years. #respect
It took no time at all for these two to sit politely rather than constantly jump up. All dogs are just doing what works. If you proactively teach them a better way, they will do that instead. #ilovedogtraining #goodstudents
Stella is a wiggle worm who is over the moon to meet everyone she sees. She's made great progress at being able to sit politely. Sometimes she's working so hard to not jump that she has to lie down. #gooddog
Today's puppy antics brought to you by Joey Mischief. Cute AND smart!
Cuteness overload! These two just arrived from warmer climates and their new mom wants to set them up for success. Hurrah! Timid and unsure but quick to make friends, and very clever. I predict they will settle in more quickly as a result of the training we're doing to help them make sense of and gain confidence in their new life.
Sometimes the little pups need help learning a Down on cue. Maybe it's because they're so close to the ground already.
These two cuties aren't related but they look like they could be! #yellowlab
Dakota is a success story thanks to the commitment of her family. Well done! At this, our second lesson, she has kept her feet on the ground, either standing, sitting, or in this case offering me a Down. From jumping, excitable to chill and polite. Dakota isn't a naughty dog, she just didn't know what to do with herself in exciting situations like when new people arrive. Next we'll work on bikes and skateboards.
Practice makes perfect! #reactivedogtraining
So wait, 2020 is the ultimate plan for cats to take over the world?
Wee nugget trying to put thoughts in my mind. "Feed. Me. Treats." I am helpless to resist.
Many brokers operate as "rescues" to appeal to the kinder nature of others while they makr a profit off your kindness with little or no thought for the care of the dog. Please, please be careful when adopting.
Next set of Good Manners classes starts Friday, October 23. We'll have lots of fun playing games that help pups learn good manners. Just a few spots left!
Working it real good.
Nailing Top of Class for cuteness.
Inquiring minds want to know, "Where are the goods?!"
Fuzzy boy Barkley is getting more confident. #reactivedogtraining
