We are open! To all of our loyal patients: We are writing to inform you that we will be re-opening for routine care on June 5th, 2020. We are excited to open and to be able to serve all of you again! In an effort to keep you, our staff, and our doctors safe, when you come back to see us, you will notice some important changes in our offices. Please be patient with us as we navigate this new territory. ... 1. All patients must wear a mask to their appointment. You will notice that all staff and doctors are also wearing masks. 2. You must have a pre-scheduled appointment to enter the office (this includes browsing for glasses, picking up an order, and frame repairs/adjustments) until further notice. Please call ahead or email us to book this! 3. Please come to your appointment alone. We need to limit the number of people entering the offices. Only patients with scheduled appointments will be able to enter the office (unless a caregiver is necessary). 4. You will notice more hand sanitizing stations, plexiglass barriers, regular frame disinfection, and promotion of a socially distant office environment. 5. All of our staff are trained on proper sanitizing and disinfecting techniques, and will be wearing adequate personal protective equipment for the duration of their shifts. 6. In our exam rooms, it is difficult to maintain proper social distance. We have taken all the proper precautions regarding PPE and sanitization. We will be wearing masks and trying to reduce talking as much as possible. We will walk you through the exam and explain our findings, but we will not be able to have as many personal conversations as we would like to be. We cannot wait until we are able to catch up with you, when it’s safer to do so. 7. Arriving on time for your appointment is extremely important. We need to follow a strict schedule to maintain reduced traffic in the clinic. We will not be able to accommodate patients that are late for their appointments as it risks running over into another patients scheduled time. If you had an appointment that was cancelled during our temporary closure, we will be contacting you to re-book your appointment. If you would like to book an appointment for an exam, to browse or purchase glasses, pick up glasses, or require an adjustment, call us at (902) 443-2020, or visit our website http://www.familyvisionclinic.ca. Please understand that in an effort to reduce the number of people in our clinics at one time, we have had to significantly decrease the number of openings for appointments. This may mean that the next available appointment for you will be a longer wait than you’re used to. We apologize for this inconvenience and we will try and get you all booked in as soon as we can. Please note, we are currently only able to offer urgent services to our pre-existing patients. Like many others, we have had to close our doors because of COVID-19, and we aren’t sure when we will be able to safely operate to our full capacity. Many may not realize that Family Vision Clinic is a locally owned small business, and we encourage you to please consider supporting local as much as you can. This is always important, but especially so over the next few weeks and months. Have you been wondering where to order your contact lenses? We are still able to order thes...e for you, and ship them for free, directly to your doorstep. This applies to FVC patients with a valid contact lens prescription. For those of you who have placed glasses orders with FVC, we want to let you know that we are working hard to get these to you. Due to reduced man-power, it might take a little longer than our usual turn around time. However, we will complete every order and will be mailing them out to you. If you have placed an order for glasses through us, you do not need to call us to check on them. When they are ready to be mailed, we will contact you by phone to take your payment and confirm your mailing address. They will then be sent directly to you. At this time, we are not able to do any frame adjustments. Once we re-open, you can pop by anytime to get your glasses adjusted.
