Happy Cinco de Mayo! Join us to celebrate and enjoy two fun-filled danceable music performances by two popular singers of Mexican Music, Elsa and Jose from Sangre Morena. They are presenting "Cuando Sale la Luna", a love song that means, "When The Moon Comes Out", and "Caballo Viejo", that means "Old Horse" which is a classic Venezuelan folk song that has become known internationally and played by artists all over the world. Let’s enjoy! Cinco de Mayo, a Mexican celebratio...n, commemorates the victory and their struggle for freedom. Our library’s celebration is all about bringing people together and highlighting the beauty and tradition of their culture. This is a children’s story of one Syrian family and their struggle to find happiness again after their move to Canada. This book explains that even when home seems very far away, it can also be wherever you are if you’re with the people you care about. While this picture book is directed at kids in kindergarten to grade 3, the resounding message about hope and community is one we can all relate to.
