2020 was the year of filming from home. My downstairs and garage were converted to make shift studios multiple times when needed and it always produced great results. I even made a sound booth out of some flops and used the @sounddevices #mixpre3 and @shure #sm7b mic to record a voice over session. These #btsphotos are from an upcoming historical show @straycat_media and I are creating for #knowledgenetwork

Had some fun shooting more lamps made by @eastvanlight to showcase the range of products they sell. Using the #loawa24mmmacroprobe lens we were able to do some repeat shots of various lamp designs and through the magic of post I could flash between them in a quick upbeat edit. Also was great finding a track to cut to from #audiio.com #athomefilmmaking #garagestudio

A common phrase used on set is We’ll fix it in post. As a shooter I have definitely said this in the sake of saving time and leave the visual fix to the poor editor who gets the project. On a recent shoot I decided I would take the time and finesse the lighting to make a visible stand holding a door bell become invisible on camera. It’s all about working light ratios and making the papers light exposer match the background. With a little paper tape on my #aputure300d I made some very selective spot lighting on the paper and presto the stand was gone! #magicoflight #redgemini5k

Last year I bought into an up and coming camera company called @zcamcc and their #zcame2s6 camera. It shoots 6K up to 48fps in ProRes 422. I didn’t know what to expect but the results have been incredible for a sub $3000 camera. Also it’s tiny and makes gimbal work a breeze. #ronins2 #sigmaartlens

One tool I’ve come to love over the years is the @djiglobal #RoninS which I thought would be tough to make better. After receiving the #RoninS2 they literally improved everything about the design from locking balance points to a more compact break down package for travel. Also it’s weight payload increased and with the use of a @reddigitalcinema #Jetpackback you can easily fly a #dsmc2 camera with full tilt capability. Very excited to take this baby for a spin.
