I have a rock in my shoe so I'll have to stop walking on that foot. Makes any sense? Not really. ... And yet we do this with our lives. Instead of stopping, looking and getting rid of the rock, we try to fight against it. We get mad and upset and anxious about the fact that we can’t walk on that foot. This fight is a daily grind that could be prevented IF we would PAUSE and look at what's really going on INSIDE our shoe! Getting to the root of the problem instead of trying to numb, hide or distract can be a painful and difficult journey BUT it’s the ONLY real treatment that works for the long haul. For as long as I can remember I’ve always craved and searched for acknowledgement from others. Someone to tell me I’m doing a good job. Someone to tell me I’m doing the right thing. Someone to tell me I’ll be fine. Someone to tell me I’m good enough. This past year there was LOTS of internal work AND while I sit here writing this caption- I can actually say that my OWN internal acknowledgement and recognition is what I was longing for all along. ... Waiting for someone else to give us the thumbs up or the go ahead is not something I’m willing to wait for anymore. I’m giving MYSELF the green light, the pat on the back, the permission to go for it, the acknowledgement of worthiness... How would owning your desires and your dreams change things for YOU?? Perfect week end for some kitchen productivity Save this recipe and make a batch or double batch in the weekends!! They are fantastic for breakfast, pre or post workout, snack OR desert time with some honey or almond butter ... Packed Energy Bars Ingredients 2 cups of oats 1 cup of ground flax seeds 1/4 cup of sesame seeds (or seed of choice) 2 tsp ground cinnamon + other spices of choice ( nutmeg + clove)... 1 tsp of vanilla extract 1tsp of himalyan salt - cup of coconut oil or MCT oil or avocado oil (could mix and match) 2 eggs 2 apples grated 5 dates optional: 2 tbs sweetener of choice (maple syrup, honey) Instructions Preheat oven to 375 In a large bowl add all ingredients listed above. Use a hand blender to mix everything nicely together OR if you do not have a hand blender add ingredients to your large blender. Once consistency is sticking together add any options of choice to the batter. Line a large oven pan and line with parchment paper or non stick silicone... Spread the batter evenly on the surface. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Let it cool down before cutting. Use pizza cutter tool (roller) to divide your granola bar portions. Store in a closed container in the fridge or in the freezer for better quality longer! ENJOY Optional fold ins:: dried fruits, chocolate chips, nuts, berries... XOX Gabrielle
