Dancestreams always produces wonderful productions and I’m certain that this years videography will be no different. This company is comprised of dancers from throughout Vancouver Island and this year Gabriola Dance is represented by Elizabeth Clay. They pivoted to ensure that young pre professional dancers could still benefit from their guest teachers and renowned choreographers and they reorganized themselves to create this piece which is partly filmed on Gabriola at The Commons. Dancestreams has been coming to Gabriola for the past month and working at The Commons and The Poetry Yurt or and will have a virtual offering soon. Of course, we all miss the live performances but I’m so glad they found a way to make a difference during these times and I’m excited to see the work they will produce.

Jenny is an amazing, level 2 certified gymnastics coach, dance lover and community leader in physical literacy education. If your dancer enjoys gymnastics this will be a great addition to their schedule. Classes will be at The Poetry Yurt, at The Commons on Fridays 2:30-3:15 Jan 8-March 12. Attention elite athletes, *Exciting announcement* Gabriola Pilates welcomes a new coach and it’s just in time to help your budding athletes stay in shape over ...the holidays and during a time of decreased organized sport training hours. Adin Brenner is a 19 year old NCCP level 1 certified gymnastics coach and former National team member. He is available for private classes in strength and conditioning at the Gabriola Pilates Studio. Other coaching experience includes soccer, baseball and after school multi sport programming. He will be focusing on teens, young adults and elite athletes and applying foundational knowledge to assess, motivate, educate, and train athletes for the primary goal of improving sport performance. Local references include Jenny Ivany, Lesley Standerwick, and Glen Murphy. Classes are the well stocked at the Gabriola Pilates Studio and include rings, elliptical and all small equipment. Single classes are $35/hr or get 5 for $150. Trades are also welcome. All covid regulations for individual personal training are strictly followed.
