Good Morning FB friends and followers. I wanted to take a moment to celebrate with you the success of our Holiday workshops. Thank you to all of you who attended. Without you we could not have offered one nevermind five opportunities to discover the artist within. Each workshop brought its own level of creativity and the artists passion and savoir faire. This was the perfect opportunity for our community to reconnect. Your visit allowed us to introduce you to new skills sets ...and artists. We welcomed you to experience our current exhibition " The Power of Play" that showcased three of our " own " Thelma Sellers, Zoe Perrin & Valerie Pring. A very big thanks to all of our staff and Board members who made this happen. What will 2021 bring? We at the Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture look forward to joining you on that journey of discovery. Stay tuned as we continue to work diligently developing new and exciting opportunities for our community and beyond. Grant Peckford Executive Director See more

COVID 19 has not stopped the GAC from connecting. Our doors may not have been open but we continued to build on existing partnerships and foster new relationships with new and existing stakeholders. I am very excited to share with our FB friends and followers the statement from our Town of Georgina colleague Jodi Pridham, Manager of Clients & Cultural Services. Grant Peckford, Executive Director Growing Culture! The Town of Georgina Recreation & Culture Department is working... in partnership with the Georgina Arts Centre & Gallery to deliver arts and culture programs and service opportunities throughout the Town of Georgina. In these unprecedented times, we have had the opportunity to further strengthen the relationship and work on future planning together. The Town of Georgina’s culture vision statement, as outlined in the Municipal Cultural Plan, is as follows "Culture in Georgina arises from a unique landscape and a balance of urban and rural life. Cultural expression and celebration in Georgina contributes to the local economy, to personal growth and community well being; it transforms our communities by fostering creativity, the imagination and a shared vision of a better future." Our collaborative goal will continue to follow the cultural vision for Georgina through community engagement and provide cultural experiences that bring the community together for a healthier well being. We are excited about the direction and growth of our partnership. Watch for events and services available to you in the upcoming year!

Good Morning Facebook friends and followers. The Silent Auction has closed, the ballots are in and counted. THANK YOU!!!! Once again our community came through for us. Thank you to all of the artists who chose to share their work through their donations and our community who dug deep in their pockets. Drum roll please....$1,554.00. While our future as the pandemic continues remains uncertain we very much appreciate the support we are receiving from our community. Good Afternoon Georgina All I can say is WOW! And I do believe I have said it on my own Social Media platforms several times this past weekend. I have received many emails and texts from friends and members of our community congratulating us on our participation in the Studio Tour. They were very pleased to see the Georgina Arts Centre and Gallery on the tour after many years of being absent. That and our soft reopening made this past weekend a very special experience for u...s all. I would like to say a very big thank you to our staff and Board of Directors who worked tirelessly to see this happen. The Town of Georgina was with us all the way! Once again our community came together, demonstrating our resiliency and commitment to each other. The GAC saw over 200 guests come through the door. They looked, shopped, bid on our silent auction items and just embraced the experience. In spite of the protocols in place we engaged and celebrated each other. Our artists Sherry Walker and Jake Charles spoke at length with our guests. They shared their personal stories and experiences. Their presence added something special to the weekend. Thank you to both of you. We look forwarded to working with you both soon. As we move forward, we do not know what tomorrow will bring. We want our community to know that in spite of COVID 19 we continue to develop new programming and review some of our past offerings. We know that nothing will look the same and we embrace the opportunity to work differently as we continue to focus on our community. Our 2020 has become our 2021 and we are back! Stay tuned there is so much more to come. Grant Peckford Executive Director
