Donation Drop Off For Fort McMurray: Updated - Wednesday, May 4th @ 5 pm) There are tons of opportunities to donate and assist evacuees and victims of the Nor...thern Alberta wildfires, both in this post and in the comments below this post. Please if you are planning a Fort McMurray fundraiser (bottle drive, lemonade stand, business freebies, places to stay, discounts etc..) OR if you are seeking to assist in these efforts via donations, please read and share this post. We certainly don't want to deter anyone from helping our Northern neighbours but, please also be vigilant about where and to whom you are giving donations. Unfortunately, it is in times of distress that good people fall victim to scams and dishonest individuals. St. Albert Centre is collecting donations for the families in Fort McMurray who have lost so much... Anyone OR or any organisations who are collecting donations are invited to add their info in the comments of this post. Organisers are also welcome to contact St. Albert Centre for assistance with getting items delivered. There is a bin near the St. Albert Centre Food Court for anyone wanting to add their donations. Cash and Gift Card donations can be made at the mall's administration office (also near food court). Special parking arrangements are being made at the mall for displaced families who are seeking somewhere to park their RV's and camping trailers. Please contact St. Albert Centre if you know of a family in need of parking. Fort McMurray is still under evacuation orders but, St. Albert Centre is working with their sister mall in Ft. Mac to ensure that the most needed items will be delivered to families in need. The Red Cross has advised that they are mostly seeking "Cash and Gift Card" donations at this time. New toiletries, diapers and pull-ups, non-perishable food items and formula, new undergarments and socks are also in high need and St. Albert Centre will ensure that these items are delivered accordingly. New items are what is being most requested by most local assistance programs (Food Bank etc..) because they are the easiest to distribute) The General Manager, Jillian Creech has advised that she will provide us with updates accordingly. Thank you, everyone. #StAlbertSupport
