Here’s a little piece of history! On the right is Peter Wippert, our Grandfather (Papa)! He worked and made a living as an artist for over 40 years. Many of you in the Kawartha Lakes remember him though his art and being a part of the downtown Lindsay business community...I am reminded of this through my customers on a weekly basis! My mom, Janet, on the left learned the framing trade by working for him at Wippert’s Art Shop, and eventually branched out on her own at the age of 21 to open Galaxy Picture Framing. Fast forward to 2020 (over 50 years after this photo was taken!) ...here we are - thriving and still passionate about providing the same personalized costumer service and quality workmanship our Mom, and our Papa worked so hard to establish.

Cory and Sarah here ...Did you know that our Mom (yep we’re sisters!) started this business in 1979?..that’s 41 years ago! Our Mom (Janet) learned the basics from our Grandfather, which makes us the 3rd generation of framers! #runsintheblood

Today marked the first day of Stage 1 of the province's reopening plan, and the doors to many of our downtown retailers were open to the public for the first ti...me in almost two months. Several more are taking some extra time to finish renovations and reconfigure their space, and we'll see them open in the coming days and weeks. All retailers have faced the challenge of how to make their stores safe, navigable, and sustainable, and all have new measures in place. One thing is for certain - the whole downtown community is so grateful for the support shown by the local community during this challenging time.
