It was a productive and wonderful day. I was honoured to meet World Class Carver Randy Gauthier whose many pieces are featured across the country. His work is astounding! This photo does not do this piece justice. Stay tuned for more information of his fine art exhibitions and endeavours.

As museums and galleries continue to reopen around the country, were reminded of all the ways that we might still experience barriers to access. Technology can... help us experience art in other citiesand decades! Circa 1948 (2014) by Stan Douglas (b.1960) is a doorway to a citys past. Weaving fragments of history together to create an augmented reality app that viewers can navigate from their phones, Douglas created meticulously researched and historically accurate 3D renderings of two important sites from Vancouvers history: Hogans Alley and the Old Hotel Vancouver, both since destroyed. By transforming the body of the viewer into a navigational device, Douglas has removed one physical barrier of experiencing art.
