Hi everyone! This post is regards to Classes. I am feeling comfortable enough to start planning classes again after everything has been established about the Covid-19 pandemic guidelines that are in place and also completing our renovations to make social distancing more possible to staff and guests. Over the next week or so I will look at scheduling the adult classes, but as of right now it doesn't look like they will be starting until November.... For the month of October I will only be running my after school program for kids just to get a hang of this new normal. Please keep us in your email list so that you don't miss the next update. Thank you for your patience and support! *** Regarding: After School Art Escapes. The fall schedule is 10 classes starting the week of October 13th to the week of December 15th. The classes run from 4:30pm-6:30pm, and you have your option of Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Ages 6-16 are welcome, each students will get the time and challenge they need to become more creative and enjoy the projects. All supplies included unless otherwise notified. As I already had to transfer some students from the spring time, space is limited. To cut down on risks caused by sharing art supplies I will be supplying a small art kit to the students. Masks are mandatory for students and staff. Gloves will be supplies on the days where we may need to share or use supplies we cannot properly sanitize (ie. Charcoal) We will also only have 6 kids per class to make sure that along with staff we are following provincial guidelines. An online option will be available in case you decide to not have your child in the group setting or the time and day doesn't work for your schedule. The videos will be posted to a Facebook group that you will be added to at the time of enrolment. Class prices: $225.00+HST for all 10 classes + art kit. Whether in class or online. The schedule is as follows: Week 1 (October 13, 14, or 15th): Pencil Drawing Still Life (A sculpture) Week 2 (October 20, 21, or 22nd): Pencil Drawing Animals Week 3 (October 27, 28, or 29th): Halloween Art Week 4 (November 3, 4 or 5th): Portrait and Anatomy Study Week 5 (November 10, 11, or 12th): Pencil Drawing: Waterfall Week 6 (November 17, 18, or 19th): Watercolour Colour Mixing Week 7 (November 24, 25, or 26th): Watercolour Abstracts Week 8 (December 1, 2, or 3rd): Charcoal Portraits Week 9: (December 8, 9, or 10th): Guided Acrylic Landscape Week 10: (December 15, 16, or 17th): Christmas Crafts *** If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know. We are now open longer Hours! Also the Call to Artists is still open. Looking for painters/drawers/jewelers etc. I am still working out the kinks for classes. CALL TO ARTISTS! Gallery 33 has wall spaces and display area available after we spent a few months renovating. We are looking for local Thunder Bay or regional artists! All memberships are starting September 1st, and we have less display than before so first come first serve. Thank you!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT AFTER SCHOOL ART ESCAPES: Hi, parents and students! I know you have all been waiting to hear about the start up and continuation of the After School Art Escapes, especially since the announcement of schools opening up in September. We have been working really hard at the gallery and the Painted Turtle to renovate and move things around here so that we can successfully have the kids (and adults) back to learn in a safe space. Now to answer "When"... and "How" When: After School Art Escapes are hopefully going to be back mid-September. Running 4 days a week from 4:30pm- 6:30pm to catch up the kids from Spring who missed out and also to bring in some new students that wanted to try it out! I'm aiming for September 21st. So that everyone can get used to the new normal at school. How: As mentioned above, 2 days are going to be to catch up my Spring Students, and 2 days will be for new students. Everyone will be required to wear a mask because I can't space out the students exactly 6 feet from each other, however there will be table spacers as well for children sitting across from eachother. Gloves will be provided and each student will have their own little art kit so that there won't be sharing or a huge need for cleaning by myself. In class enrollment will be limited to 8 kids, maximum. Now, for anyone that wants to have their child participate but doesn't feel comfortable bringing them into our space, I will be providing 20 extra kits and the class in video format for children to participate at home. This will hopefully give a lot more of you access to a program that has shown a lot of success harbouring creativity in children and youth.
