Changes to preliminary inquiries with respect to Criminal cases.

Starting on January 1st, 2020, the Small Claims Court limit is increased to $35,000.00 from $25,000.00! This will result in the minimum Appealable limit being increased from $2,500.00 to $3,500.00, as well. This in an initiative that we were fighting for while I was on the board of the Ontario Paralegal Association. This is an excellent step in the right direction to increase Access to Justice!
