Expectations. In short...just don't. Rather, be grateful for what is, in this moment. How many times have you heard "a quote" about how expectations lead to disappointments?... I've caught myself a few times over the last little while, excited and in expectation mode, and then guess what? Life hands me a lesson, another little nudge that is meant to keep my eyes wide open. . For me that lesson is to find peace and happiness within myself, as opposed to looking outside of myself for that. Because what happens externally, is not within our ability to control. I become overzealous, impulsive and emotional rather quickly when I'm excited, contrary to my rational thinking. Something that I'm not overly thrilled about. Sometimes, it's the most trivial of things that brings me back to myself, things that others would perhaps pay little or no attention to. It all leads back to the same place. There is no one or nothing that can fill the empty spaces, except for ourselves. If you've caught yourself in a moment where things simply did not go as expected, and you are left feeling disappointed; Ask yourself this... When did I choose to leave my peace and power to something outside of myself?

My friends, While fear may seem warranted and justified when we move through the tough times, we cannot allow ourselves to become frozen by it. Clever acronyms like "False Evidence Appearing Real" and "Forget Everything And Run" may not give you the solace and peace of mind you feel like you desperately need - after all they are just words...no matter how much truth is behind them. If fear has taken a temporary hold, and is causing you to spin your wheels, I think the one thing we can do is to take a step in a new direction. Even a baby step...because in doing that we open the door to possibility
