Gammys Home Made Ukrainian Pierogies

Food brings people together in so many ways. Today, my Gammy taught me her pierogi recipe. I now finally know how to make some Ukrainian pierogies from scratch. But aside from learning to make 90 pierogies, I got to watch my Gammy in action. She was so proud to show me. She was telling me stories about her mom. How they ate. How they fed everyone. Pierogies are poor mans food. But they’re made with so much love that they’ve become iconic. I don’t know a single person who doe...sn’t love a pierogi (and quite frankly I don’t want to lol jk) . Learning some traditional family recipes was much more beautiful than I could imagine. Soooo happy I could do this with Gammy today. She said she was proud of me. I am so thankful. .
