ATTENTION MATES! With heavy heart I must announce the death of our beloved crewmate Rusty Feathersword (Myrla Halladay Grant) Myrla was a founding board member of the ‘Gananoque Pirate Invasion’, which has run for the last three years. She was a Titan amongst us and her energy and desire to grow our pirate festival was relentless. Her departure and our loss cannot be overstated. As a result, our remaining board members have decided the ‘Gananoque Pirate Invasion’ will be put ...on hold for one year. There will be no pirate festival in Gananoque in 2019. We will take the year off to rebuild and come back strongly in 2020. We will honour our beloved Rusty Feathersword and continue the work we started together. We shall regroup and rebuild! Myrla’s, and our shared passion for serving the city of Gananoque and growing this award winning, internationally recognized pirate festival shall continue. I ask you to raise your tankards, to think of Rusty Feathersword’s endless energy and commitment and enduring legacy. Look upon her beautiful smiling face and send her off with three throat wrecking huzzahs! MYRLA! ‘RUSTY FEATHERSWORD!’ HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH! Never to be forgotten! Capt'n Tor On behalf of our board

Today is the last day for voting on the international pirate anthem and we would appreciate your support and would love for you to have friends and family listen to the nominations and choose our tune ‘A Bold Decision’ if it suits them! Link: https://drive.google.com/open... If you have not yet heard the song ye may Listen to it here: https://youtu.be/N_mtwHtWUIk ‘A Bold Decision’ is an original core pirate song about the precise moment ye have had ENOUGH of the oppressive class structure, of barely living while the elites eat rich food off silver and gold dishes! It’s about wanting to have a real voice in yer life and a crew that be there fer ye in good times and bad, to sail the seas and feel the salt upon yer lips; to have a chance to have gold in yer pocket and be welcomed and celebrated ashore when ye return! It’s about that very moment ye make up yer mind and choose to become a pirate! Huzzah! Can all our mates make one last big push to gather a few extra votes? Our European competition has a much bigger media team than we do - so we be up against it! But we will always try our best to rise to the occasion - so please help our troupe to be successful and be one of those who can say I was there in the beginning and been there as loyal crew! I raise me rum-filled tankard to ye all!!! Huzzah
