We will be sharing some of our local talent while keeping the spirit of the Gan Steampunk Festival alive until we return in 2021 ... Here we go! Announcing our Virtual Steampunk Festival. Let's begin with our Fabulous Face mask Challenge. As face masks are becoming our new normal, it seems like the perfect accessory for Steampunk enthusiasts and makers of all kinds... We want to see your stuff! Enter our contest and for all to see. We will be awarding prizes and we will be keeping the spirit of the Gan Steampunk festival alive! The criteria is simple. You must be able to breathe comfortably in it. In other words, make it functional! It can be simple like an embellished cloth mask, or as elaborate as you like: a unique take on a plague doctor mask, a gas mask, etc etc! Get together with your bubble, your family or create your own! Voting will be done on social media (instagram and Facebook) and three winners will be chosen on September 19 at the end of our Virtual Talent Showcase. I'm gonna do something a little self-serving right now because my STEAM Graphic Novel (brilliantly illustrated by Duane Leslie and Eva de la Cruz) is being publ...ished by Dark Horse Comics in the middle of a pandemic (June 9, to be exact), and I'm not sure if there will be any press...meaning not many people will even know that this book the three of us all worked very hard on for the last several years is coming out. Therefore, I am asking everyone who sees this to PLEASE share this post and let people know that they can order a copy of this new, original graphic novel right now on Amazon! I am not sure when this book will be available in comic book shops, but I will post an update as soon as we have a date on that. The Steampunk Explorer just posted a list of steampunk-related events that have been cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Sadly, it seems likely... to grow. We will keep it updated as we learn of other changes. If anyone is aware of other cancelled or postponed events, please post a comment or send a message through the contact form on the website.

We are gearing up for a full weekend of fun! Lots of planning going on right now. We have moved the date up a month to take advantage of our 1000 islands playground. Not only do we have our own events but there will be plenty other things do do and see here in Gan and surrounding area...
