Landscape designers in India have a vast amount of colorful plants to work with to create lush urban landscapes. This composition is located in Aero City Plaza in New Delhi and photographed on March 1, 2020, the day we flew home and one day before the country shut down for quarantine.

A couple of things: First, there was a bit of confusion last night about our rule on self-promotion. To be clear: We are not trying to be an alternative to som...e rigid science-based groups. We want to encourage a collegial atmosphere, where personal experience is valued. Blatant and repeated self-promotion will be dealt with. I have already had a garden photographer ask me (politely) by private message if they could post photos from his or her portfolio. I told them that a few photos (in a single thread) are ok. A "Let me be your garden photographer" post is not. The last thing we want is for this group to be clogging up people's timelines. We are now up to 106 members after two days with this group. This is encouraging, because it was my feeling that we would need a critical mass of at least a few hundred experts for it to work. Unfortunately, Mark Zuckerberg sets a limit on how many Facebook friends I can invite per day. It seems a bit arbitrary, but I think it's around five or ten invites, which means that I may get through all of my green industry FB friends by next summer. If you know someone who would be an asset to this community, please feel free to invite them. As we are all new members here, anyone who wishes to write the customary new member introduction post is welcome to do so. If you wish to mention what you do, and where you work, that is also fine. In, for example, Frank Buddingh' 's case, this is useful knowledge. To avoid having 20+ posts like that, I am suggesting that they post these as comments to this thread. (Frank, what exactly IS the possessive form of your last name anyway?). I will begin: I have my own design/build and consulting firm in Greenwich, CT, called McMillan Garden Designs. I specialize in pollinator gardens, and those that attract and support birds and other fauna. I am heavily influenced by Piet Oudolf and the New Perrenials/Dutch Wave movement, with perhaps a more intense focus on sustainable practices. But I am not a natives purist, and I understand that there is a time and a place for even glyphosphate. Because it is Greenwich, I inevitably also do a lot of formal layouts of things like boxwood and large tree plantings, which helps pays the bills. I left Wall Street to do this in 2007 and have succeeded beyond my wildest dreams. I don't need help from anyone here in finding new clients, but I do think it's useful to know what everyone does.
