I didn’t always know what I wanted to do as an occupation but I knew that I wasn’t the office type. I needed to be active My first job was babysitting. From a young age, I’ve been playing with and taking care of small children. This experience allowed me to sharpen up my skills such as playfulness, responsibility, and patience. Then I decided to proceed to the early ch...ildhood program to get more knowledge about children’s development. Now I can't imagine my world without kids around me! I am excited to come every morning to my workplace and talk, play and care of my little friends! I believe that play is of the utmost importance in early childhood instruction. Play is the way that children learn about the world around them, learn the social and emotional skills of working with others, and learn problem-solving skills. My name is Christine Kyere and I am a certified educator at L’Academie des Petits Genies in Lasalle. At a very young age I knew I wanted teach younger children. I decided to continue my studies at CDI college where they offered the Early Childhood Education Program and got my AEC diploma. This is currently my 9th year working as an educator and I love it. As a preschool teacher my aim is to create a safe environment for children. While promoting social, cognitive and emoti...onal development. I encourage fine and gross motor skills which is the essential goal. I also allow our children to learn through play because daycare is supposed to be fun! I have met many great families throughout the years. The parent to teacher relationship is very important to me because we need to work together as a team to achieve what’s best for your child’s experience at daycare. I have worked with all age groups from 0-5 years old. I have seen children from 18 months grow into bright graduates ready for kindergarten and the world. It is very rewarding.

Dear friends and parents, Today I would like to share my story. The story of creation L’Académie des Petits Génies from the first idea and up today. My name is Alena Tiakova and I am a director of L’Académie des Petits Génies in LaSalle. I was always dreaming about a big family with many kids around me. And I was lucky to get married to the awesome men and grew up four incredible sons. The professional life I also wanted to dedicate working with kids. I decided to foll...ow my passion and entered Early Childhood Education program at TAV College. The next 4 years I have been volunteering in the several daycares where I helped to serve meals, clean the facility and provide educational games and activities for the children throughout the day. I founded L’Académie des Petits Génies in 2015 with the underlying philosophy of creating the environment full of unconditional love and acceptance, where each child will feel happy and safe. 1st July 2016 after finishing all construction works, our daycare has officially opened the doors for the first time with 5 educators on board. Every year 10 to 12 kids graduate from our daycare and successfully integrate into the school. Due to the implementation of the bilingual (French and English) education program, all children get to experience both languages in our childcare. As a lovely, patient and enthusiastic person who loves play, teach and help the kids grow by exploring, curiosity and play, I am happy with what I am doing and can say for sure that it has been a great pleasure and privilege to serve Montreal families for the past 4 years!
