Monday is International Overdose Awareness Day--both a solemn opportunity to honour those we have lost to the overdose crisis, and to do what we can to prevent ...more needless loss of life. I'll be there to speak about our Mental Health & Substance Use services, harm reduction services, the Opioid Agonist Treatments available, the Lifeguard Digital Health Lifeguard phone app, and other overdose prevention initiatives that VCH and the Sea to Sky Community Action Team are working on. I'll be providing Naloxone training as well, of course--come for the free orange, stay for the chance to save lives. If you happen to have an old (but still working) smartphone you're not using anymore, we'd be glad to take those off your hands, too--the Lifeguard app can save lives, but only if the people who need it have phones to run it!
