The last few days have been so warm and beautiful I wanted to share some photos from the woods.

For the last couple of years we've been freezing fresh basil in water in an ice cube tray for use all winter. For me it's the herb that's just so awesome fresh ...and just good when dried. I know some people grow it indoors and we'll try that this year but the ice cubes work wonderfully. This week I read a review of a book: The Batch Cook Book: Money-saving Meal Prep for Busy Lives by Sam Gates - review by Stuart Heritage in the Guardian newspaper International edition October 22, 2020, where he describes 'flavour bombs' that you freeze to add to meals for a burst of deliciousness. Basil frozen fresh in water would qualify and so would garlic frozen in olive oil. We made a tray yesterday and are anxious to try it out! See more
