Garnett's Goaty Gardens 23.04.2021

It’s been such a busy spring getting things prepared and done while enjoying the kids along with it. So much more to do and stay on top of. We have 75 more chicks coming on July 9th as well. Can’t wait till the roosters crow!

With spring finally soon to arrive we’re excited to get our yard cleaned up and start enjoying some sunshine. Planning some gardening spaces and getting the goats back to work on some of the overgrowth. Going to be a big year and an important one to grow our own food. Farm freedom at its finest.

Built a mobile chicken and duck house the last couple days now just have to wait till the snows gone to tow it around. Couple more small things and it’s complete. First night in a new house what could go wrong.

Are you a home based crafter or even a business? Possibly looking for more exposure, maybe even looking at doing markets but don’t wanna spend all your hard earned money on a table. We’re looking at how to bring more people that want the exposure or table room to present themselves at markets. Maybe you provide a service instead of selling possessions and just want to piggy back off each other specially if your after the advertising instead of a trinket sale. We’re going to ...look at multiple markets this year using our animals and our pretty faces to lure people in and hear of our business or even gander at our goods. Doing a home based business every dollar counts. Let’s get people connected and help each other out to reach your targets. Advertising a business whose target is new moms or even future moms could really get the exposure off someone who might be selling items frequently looked at or bought by young parents or kids. With advertising reaching your target age ranges is important because your not going to get 85 year old jimmy looking for information on a dula! Piggy backing off each other will make it cheaper/ bring more successful interactions/ and might just get you the break you’ve been waiting for! Send us a message! finding a group to piggy back with shouldn’t be as hard as finding a room mate! If you’ve put your signs up and felt like your down a no exit rd this might be a positive solution for you home based business! See more

Day one of chicks and they all got their make up done met all of sawyers teddy bears and are finally getting a break from our little rascals. Emmett was in disbelief and so were the dogs. It’s funny where you end up when you start to follow your kids Down the goat trail of excitement, imagination, and pure wonder!

Henry Light brown goat on the left is almost 3 weeks old and Gabby the dark brown goat on the right is 4 months. Not that big of a difference in size between them. Sunday we will be receiving 20 ducks and 5 chicks as our first wave of birds this spring. Were going to strive for 50 layer chickens and 150 meat chickens this year. The Ducks will also be egg producers! Breakfast is about to rise to new heights. I’ve missed the chickens since we shut down for the winter. The character of your rooster really adds to your farm!

Dale is off to another farm for a bigger purpose then I’d ever thought he would be. A therapy goat for a young autistic boy! He was this close to being somebody’s meal. I always try to sell our goats as pets first but the reality is we can’t have them here forever. I’m very happy that he’s left are farm for bigger opportunity than imagined. He’s even getting a new name. I hope our farm keeps following these foot prints

Anybody incubated chicks at home? This was really fun to do with our daughter, especially hatching day. We will be doing multiple batches this year!
