Here's my contribution to images of Winnipeg's downed tree branches. It turns out that walking to work in slippery snow, jumping over large slushy puddles, through 80km winds while holding your scarf over your head to avoid being pelted in the face with hail... is a pretty bomb workout!

Hello, I am Alexandra Garrido, Registered Massage Therapist. I started my first career as a Professional Contemporary Dancer which has given me insight into the incredible movement and feats of strength the body can achieve and how sustained stresses on the body can manifest themselves into bio-mechanical imbalances. With Anatomy & Physiology at the backbone of my knowledge and training, I approach my work in an intuitive way. I am motivated to create a space where ALL peopl...e feel safe and welcome. A space where stress and pain can be diminished. A space where engagement and awareness of the body is encouraged and balance can be the goal. I observe the body as a whole. When there is a postural imbalance, I look at all structures in the body that may be contributing to that imbalance. I like to use Myofascial techniques in addition to traditional Swedish massage techniques to encourage tissues in the body back to a more relaxed and balanced state.
