Introducing the CMTR Sixer Series, our first stab at the virtual ‘racing’ scene. We’ve produced scavenger hunts for the last year now, but this is something entirely different with a competitive flair to it. We’re calling this the Spring into Summer Skills Sharpener, especially for those who are anticipating a return to racing this summer and fall season 6 weeks, from Monday May 17th through to Sunday, June 27th... 6 races of varying lengths and demands. An uphill race, a downhill race, a flat 10 miler, a hilly 25k, an undulating 20 miler and a 50k with at least 5000ft. Your top 4 results will determine your ranking, meaning you do not need to race every distance if you do not wish to. Open to anyone from around the world. Age-group categories <20 / 20-30 / 30-40 / 40-50 / 50-55 / 55-60 / 60-65 / 65-70 / over 70 / Treadmill The full podium in each and every age group will receive customized CMTR Sixer Series wooden medals produced by Aravaipa Artworx. Podium placements for each individual race will receive a special virtual badge to display their achievements. Overall winners in each and every age category, male and female (20 total winners), will win a 2022 CMTR full season’s pass! This season’s pass circumvents any sold-out events, and is worth up to $1500 if you decide to race all events in the longest distances per race. The CMTR season’s pass will include all of: Run Ridge Run / Cap Crusher / Diez Vista / TBA new race / Survival of the Fittest / Buckin’ Hell / Sky Pilot / Squamish50 / Whistler Alpine Meadows All other podium finishers (2nd place and 3rd place) will receive draw prizes from our sponsors, along with their custom sexy Sixer Series medals from Aravaipa Artworx. Registration will include a tree planted in your honour, a donation to BC Trails Organizations, a race buff, an event sticker, and a special online racer portal. And all of this for just ~ $45 USD / actual $55 CDN Full details and event registration to follow early next week! I myself will definitely be competing in this as well, in the highly competitive 40-50 age bracket Let’s have some fun and get after it here together!

Proud to be an Endurance Tap "changemaker". 20% of online Endurance Tap orders will be donated to BC Search and Rescue through the rest of March! ($ not product ) Just enter "Gary" at checkout. I also touch on the recent Barkley Marathons, and a new running spike (for snow & ice) that I'm quite fond of. Thanks to @irunfar for the recent review and opening my eyes to what I would call an improvement in the snow-ice running spike market.... Winner of @semi_rad book "I Hate Running and You Can Too" is @michelleyknits

Draw Prize Alert! I have a signed copy of "I Hate Running and You Can Too", the brand new book by the one and only Brendan Leonard of Semi-Rad, and all you have to do to enter is to comment on this posting below! If you somehow aren't familiar with Brendan you're definitely missing out. He's produced arguably the best ultra running documentary the sport has ever seen, "How To Run 100 Miles", currently over 5 million views on YouTube, and it's one of the funnier running films ...you'll come across, hence its success. He's also a master presenter / speaker. We saw him when he visited North Vancouver a few years back and I thought we were sitting in on a comedy show, and his new book is an expression of all of this. One of my favourite comedians over the years was Demetri Martin, and I absolutely love how Brendan weaves a similar visual into his storytelling. Brendan has a unique ability to extract humour from the mundane, and lucky for us that happens to currently be the sport of running. Check out his new book for a good laugh, and give the guy a follow via @semi_rad and help support his creativity via his website so we can all appreciate his work for years more to come

Rob Watson talks us through his 100km journey along Vancouver's Spanish Banks, the highs, the lows, the struggles and the reward. Draw prize alert, somewhere in this video we tell you how to quickly and easily win some sweet draw prizes. Next up is my own 10k time trial. We dive into when that's happening and how to get in on the rest of the draw prize action, including a Salomon Sense Ultra 5 backpack!

Rob Watson lined up for his first ever 100km run this morning along Vancouver's seawall & he's currently closing in on 90k! In this episode we announce the draw prize winners from E2 and go into detail about Rob's preparations and goals for this run. We also discuss the mental aspects and challenges of each of these very different pursuits.
