Gas City Co-ed Slowpitch 02.11.2020

Hello Everyone, We hope everyone is safe and hanging in there during these crazy unprecedented times. We wanted to give everyone an update on what we know for the upcoming season. As a team captain, please forward this information onto your team to let them know. As of now all recreational facilities are closed until at least May 31 2020. What does this mean for Gas City Slowpitch? At the VERY BEST if allowed we could start the season sometime in June. This would be a sh...ortened season (less games) run the same in our current format (option A). The year end tournaments would run as normal on the same designated weekends. All fees would be adjusted accordingly. The province and city will let us know sometime in May whether or not June will be good to go. However if we aren't able to play slo-pitch in June, we are coming up with possible solutions of how we can have some type of season. The board feels that if we can't get the 2020 Season (option A) going by early July, we may be forced to suspend the 2020 season and return in 2021 under regular normalities. Now we have discussed coming up with a second option for those who would still want to have some type of slo-pitch fix. Option B would be to start a Fall league August and September (maybe later part of July) if allowed or if enough interest from teams. This format would potentially have a new different look and wouldn't effect any of the current league structure we have set in place (as the 2019 season would roll over to the 2021 season), but would allow you and your teams an option to get some slo-pitch back into your lives!! Under this Format there would be 3 separate divisions: Competitive, Intermediate and Recreational. Amount of teams per division would depend on how much interest we have from teams. The year end tournaments would be moved into September. If you have an ideas or suggestions on the potential of a fall league, please feel free to let us know as we are trying to come up with a solution. Lastly if anything has changed with your teams status in regards to playing this year, please let us know so we can make any necessary changes. We understand that many people have experienced job loss or sponsors during this pandemic. Hope to see you on the diamonds soon, please stay safe!! GCCSL Board See more

Good Morning Slowpitch Community, We have been getting emails and questions lately about the upcoming registration and season. We the board have decided to postpone registration day that was scheduled for Sunday March 29th. The potential of community infection to ourselves or others doesn't seem like the right thing at this time. Also with so many people losing work, everyone's financials will be affected some way or another. The last thing we want is for anyone to worry abo...ut paying the league for registration in a time like this. In saying that, the board doesn't want to collect fees for registration and have teams not play a full season, or even worse case scenario a season at all. We will continually update when we have more answers. In the meantime stay safe everyone. GCCSL BOARD
