Gas City Pool League

Hi all its been awhile, We hope everyone is well. Since we can not have league , We have had time to look into the Leagues computer(Rodney's). We have found some pictures from the past banquets & some tournaments, its been bitter sweet for us, all those memories. Many faces gone but not forgotten, especially the man behind the scenes, Rodney who by the way did not like getting his picture taken at all lol. I hope you all enjoy these. Please if anyone have more pictures of the banquets through the years let me know . ENJOY!!!!!!!!

I’m not aware of anyone intending to go to ACS Nationals in Las Vegas in May, but thought I should share this just in case. It is not being hosted at the Tropicana anymore. My understanding is they couldn’t staff the hotel to host the event. It has been moved to the Westgate instead.

Monday Vegas players - your payout envelopes have been given to your captain today. Please contact them to arrange pickup. Sadly, this concludes our 20/21 pool season. Thank you everyone for being both patient and understanding as Donna and I tackled the learning curve of the pool league this year. I realize it was not as smooth as we would have liked but everyone was so great with us while we learned. We are hoping that the government lifts more restrictions soon so that we can run a spring league for those that are missing it. ( like us!) If things move to Phase 3 soon, we are hoping we could start a spring league mid April Thru to the end of July on Wednesday evenings. We will try and keep you informed as/if things change.

For those holding out hope for the CCS Westerns that are held in Calgary every year, they have not officially cancelled yet. Here is the latest update from Ted.

Normally these prizes are for the year end banquet, but unfortunately that is not to be this year (trust me, we are tired of saying that). So! These are the Winners of the Raffle/Draw Prizes from the Monday and Wednesday Cash Leagues. We will hand them out on Saturday at Whiskey Creek along with the Payout Envelopes. Tag your team members or captains if you see a team mate that has won! We are missing some phone numbers and would love some help getting them to the right hands! BCA has changed their Vegas Dates for next year

Hello everyone! We are aware and absolutely understand that some teams are choosing to postpone their matches due to various reasons right now, but if I could ask a favour, please drop us a text or message on here so that we know the match didn’t happen and not to look for your envelope at the bars. We are quite diligent about your stats and money, so it saves a lot of searching if we know not to look for it The sooner we know an envelope is missing, the better the odds of finding it. Thanks. We appreciate your help.

For everyone's comfort, this is the reply from the AHS regarding the pool league: "Medicine Hat managed to dodge targeted measures for pool leagues. So they are the same with Redcliff. There are no capacity limits for bars, restaurants, and billiard halls. Still no alcohol served after 10 PM and the bar closes down at 11 PM. Team sports are still allowed: https://www.alberta.ca/restrictions-on-gatherings.aspx https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx... However, I will caution that other sites such as Lethbridge, Calgary, Red Deer, & Edmonton do not allow billiards/team sport and you may get requests from people out of town. In which case, this is not allowed. That’s how covid got into the Hat in the first place. Still practice covid precautions as much as possible." See more

Hey everyone! Thank you for your patience while we sort out what the new rules mean for our pool league. FOR NOW, POOL LEAGUE WILL CONTINUE. But please understand that there are some added requirements. All bars will now have last call for alcohol by 10pm, and HAVE TO BE CLOSED by 11pm. So matches need to be completed before then. Also, regarding Schooners and both the Medicine Hat and Redcliff Legions, if you are not seated at your table, you will need to wear a mask. This rule may be implemented at other locations as well, it is up to the individual locations, so please be respectful if they choose to adhere to this. We will try and keep everyone informed as we learn more. Hope everyone is safe and healthy.
