It’s Pink Shirt Day Pink Shirt Day became an international event held annually when two students from Nova Scotia observed another student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. Deciding to show support for the student, they had everyone at their school wear a pink shirt the following day. That random act of kindness inspired this international movement. Bullying affects everyone; bullying culture can develop in any context in which humans interact with each other. This m...ay include school, family, the workplace, neighborhoods or home placement. Gateway Regional Victim Services proudly celebrates this movement with everyone around the globe. We encourage everyone today to practice kindness and wear pink to symbolize that you do not tolerate bullying. In an effort to show that we do not stand for bullying our staff can be found wearing pink shirts today. With our pink shirts we will also be spreading Random Acts of Kindness.
