On this the last Sunday of Black History Month, much of my sermon is drawn from the works of Dr. Howard Thurman and Dr. Martin Luther King. So, imagine my surprise when Gary Curran & Marney Currans prelude was Deep River, a song that inspired Dr. Thurmans book of the same title. THANK-YOU for getting us of to a great start this morning!

THURSDAYS beginning October 18 at 10am: over a MORNING BREW we will Celebrate the communion of science and faith. Painting the Stars explores the promise of evolutionary Christian Spirituality. Featuring over a dozen leading theologians and progressive thinkers. Following our sessions, there will be opportunities to go on to lunch together at a local restaurant.

This faith community has been a wonderful, surprize for me. I never imagined that I could experience such new, fulfilling changes at my age after a life of regular church. If you know folks who have given up on church.... this might be a fit for them.
