Stone Grinding for the Gatineau Loppet The week of the loppet, I will grind skis on Wednesday and if needed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. You can drop off your skis any day at GNS in Wakefield or at Eurosports in Chelsea. For more information: www.gatineaunordiquesport.com

As many people are aware, classic Skin Skis have become extremely popular with cross country skiers. The design of the mohair material used for grip is extremely functional in a wide range of conditions. I have Peltonen SkinPro skis at GNS in Wakefield for sale and as demos. With the upcoming events of the Easterns, Canadian ski marathon and Gatineau Loppet, next week is an ideal time for you to get your skis stone ground. If you drop off your skis at Euro-Sports in Chelsea before 18:00 or drop off your skis by 9am at the latest on Wednesday morning at GNS in Wakefield, your skis will be ground, waxed and ready for pick up at GNS in Wakefield by 17:00 Thursday or back at Euro-Sports in Chelsea by noon on Friday. Snow/Gatineau Loppet/Stone Grinding I must admit I was waiting it out to see if the conditions improved before I posted information about stone grinding. Now I can honestly and fairly recommend for you to have your skis stone ground for the Loppet. This snow has made a huge difference. Rarely do we get really cold weather at the end of February. In all likelihood the conditions for the Gatineau Loppet should be excellent. If so, maybe this event could always be held at the end of February. Stone Grinding for February/ Ski Drop Off For the month of February we will grind skis on Wednesday and have all skis ready for pick up by 5 PM Thursday. You can bring skis to Wakefield, or if you prefer, you can drop off your skis at Fresh Air Experience or at Eurosport as late as Tuesday afternoon before they close. The skis that came from one of the stores will be back at the store by 5 PM on Friday, unless you arrange to pick up your skis in Wakefield.

Open House This Saturday, Jan. 23, I will be hosting an open house from Noon till 5 pm at my new location in Wakefield. We will be serving coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice and Tim Bits. If you would like to have your skis stone ground, bring them with you.

Après Ski On Saturday afternoons, from Noon till 5 pm, please drop in at my new location in Wakefield (3 Gendron) and have a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Presently, all the main trails at the northern part of the Park are groomed and in very good condition. The classic skiing from P-17 in Wakefield ( trails 52 and 53 ) is excellent. If you would like to have your touring or training classic skis ground, I will be able to grind your skis while you wait.
