What is really required to see results? This is the question that everyone ask. What do I need to do to see a change?... The good news is, not much! Seeing results does not require us to have a perfect nutrition or exercise regimen. We as humans run into all sorts of road blocks and speed bumps in life. Stress, feelings, emotions, habits, jobs, family, school, kids and of course, the crappy days are real factors we all deal with each and every day. So if seeing results meant perfection, most of us wouldn’t stand a chance. Studies have shown that any effort, no matter how imperfect can result in real measurable progress! On average, it has been shown that people who were less than 50% consistent to their goals but stayed working at it for a year still ended up seeing results! For weight loss goals the average weight loss was 5-6% at under the 50% consistency rate! So what does this look like? If the goal was to be active everyday of the week (100%) and you only were consistent (40%) of the time, that would equate to 2 moderately intense workout and maybe 2 decent walks per week. This goes to show that perfection is a myth, and even though we may think we are really underperforming what may have been our goals, that even the slightest effort, whatever you are able to give, can and will lead to sustainable results. Obviously the more effort and consistency we can give the more significant the results will be. But just doing what you can, giving whatever effort you have to give towards yourself amongst all the hustle and bustle of life, and staying consistent towards your goals is enough!
