The most famous sermon Jesus preached that is familiar to many is called The Sermon on the Mount which spans three chapters [Matthew 5-7]. And the beginning section of that sermon found in Matthew 5:3-12, often called the Beatitudes, lists 8 attitudes that should be present in the life of everyone who claims to be a follower of Christ. The complete series of posts, starting with an introductory post that explores all 8 attitudes, are listed in this one post. Through the Holy Spirit and his Word, may the Lord Jesus Christ use these resources to change the reader to become more like him from the inside out. https://gbc-windsor.org/2021/03/12/the-beatitudes/

"We tend to use prayer as a last resort, but God wants it to be our first line of defense. We pray when there's nothing else we can do, but God wants us to pray before anything we do at all." Oswald Chambers

If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. But if you look at Christ, you’ll be at rest. Corrie ten Boom

Children can withstand a lot of pressure and trial from the outside if the home inside is held steady by godly parents who consistently display a godly character.

God hasn’t just left the porch light on for us. He’s out on the front porch watching, waiting, calling us home. (James Banks on God’s love for prodigals.)

A young Christian American woman was murdered in Iraq a few years ago. Her crime? She went there to help others by providing clean water to refugees. Amazingly, she had written a letter to her church to be read if she were killed. When God calls, there are no regrets, she wrote. I wasn’t called to a place. I was called to himto obey was my objective, to suffer was expected, His glory was my reward. His glory is my reward. https://gbc-windsor.org//blessed-are-those-who-are-persec/

Peace in a world filled with so many acts of violence and wars seems to be such an elusive thing. Nations are at war with each other; communities are at war with each other, churches are at war with each other, spouses are at war with each other, parents and children are at war with each other. War, war, and more war! Yet, amid all this chaos, Jesus sends his children out into this world as peacemakers. https://gbc-windsor.org//09/15/blessed-are-the-peacemakers/

Suppose you were to take a random poll of non-Christians and ask them if they would like to see one thingI mean crave to see it, I don’t believe a whole lot of people would say, I want to see God. I want to experience his presence. You see, the world wants nothing to do with God and his presence. The true Christian, on the other hand, when asked that same question, would say, I want to see God in the face of Christ. I want to experience his presence. Completely contrasti...ng desire to that of the world! However, it’s one thing to have the desire to see God and be with him. It’s another thing to be sure this will happen. So, how can we be sure we will be in heaven and see God? The Lord Jesus answers that in Matthew 5:8, when he said, Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. https://gbc-windsor.org///blessed-are-the-pure-in-heart-2/
